Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Wow that news about Saturnalia gave me goosebumps! Will be cheering him on for the rest of the Japanese TC ;)

Tesorina a 2017 chestnut fully (American Pharoah x Nonsuch Bay) ran 3rd on her debut today at Aqueduct for Wesley Ward, on the dirt.

First starter, first winner for American Pharoah: Monarch of Egypt won the first race at Naas today. American Pharoah Off the Mark At Naas, Monarch of Egypt a New Rising Star https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/american-pharoah-off-the-mark-at-naas/ Ascot is in the cards. Is it just me or does he...

Re: Stallion News

Neck pain could be anything, chances are it's something fixable with some rest for the next season.

Also nice name for the American Pharoah colt.

Re: Million Dollar Louisiana Derby

He also had an abscess and back problems while refusing to work before the Arkansas Derby. He came out of the Kentucky Derby with an injured eye and several abrasions then was immediately pointed to the Preakness. All of this happened before the Coolmore deal. He was in training for the Belmont whe...

Egyptian Storm (1/2 to Justify) --> Quality Road

Regardless of the stallion I'm kinda 'meh' about this situation. Do like me some Quality Road though and I know they are trying to protect their bottom line but still.

Re: Stallion News

Heartbreaking about Pioneer. Seems just yesterday he was a promising 3-year-old on the Derby trail. They think he died of a ruptured aorta. That can happen to any human and animal. It happened to my beloved little Kitty just before Christmas 2017...in fact, only two days after the devastating San L...

Re: Stallion News

I just remembered that Pope said her first hunch/thought was to send Songbird to Pioneerof the Nile before they decided on Arrogate. Now I am extra sad that she didn't go with him the first time

Pioneerof The Nile has passed away at age of 13.

I am so, so, sad :( He was so young! What a loss to the industry.
I can't breathe... I'm devastated.

Re: Sad state of breeding

I know the Jockey Club remains firmly against AI, but I'm beginning to think AI might be the only way to save some of these rare bloodlines. AI would make the situation worse. The vast majority of owners aren't going to send a mare to a stallion simply because he has outcross or rare lines. He need...

Re: Honor Code 2 year olds

I'm with Flanders. I think given the way the yearlings performed at the sales though, that this is already shaping up to be a special crop. Yearling sales prices don't mean much when they hit the track, but we'll see. Honor Code is so interesting. He wasn't precocious, but he won his debut sprintin...

Re: The Gotham Stakes

Opening set it up for a closer but still visually impressive for Haikal. I think Instagrand's owner's hubris penalized him, he should've been back in training sooner and gotten one run under him before this. Why did they run him in the Gotham if they're so anti-Derby? Why not just shelve him until ...

Apparently Pharoah isn’t experiencing the usual slump that sites have when their first 2yos hit the track.
