I see Casta Diva has a 35 and 4 on her shoulder. Is branding common in Japan? I've never noticed it before (and odd I noticed it on a white horse).
She is the first white foal from The Opera House

Re: Photos/News about Broodmares

Black Caviar has today had a meeting with her 2yo daughter stabled at Flemington. Apparently they spent a good 5 minutes standing nose to nose like this

Re: Matings 2019

@ Rugby Girl What can you tell me about the...interesting stallions from Japan in the Down Under, Rafflesia and Southern Lights? Huh I had to look them up. They are both here in New Zealand at the same farm and both served ONE mare in 2019. For some reason I suspect they will not be too successful ...

Re: Is American Pharoah a turf sire

Maybe it has more to do with A) the mares bred to him, and B) how his offspring have been campaigned. I wonder if this was a deliberate move from Coolmore to breed turf mares to AP in his first season. His first Australian yearlings will go through the sale ring next week and it is fair to say with...

Re: In Memoriam 2019

The stud has kept quiet about how it happened just that it was a freak paddock accident. The injury was definitely to a hoof since they named the vets and farriers involved in the first surgery

Re: Australian Racing

They have cancelled a few meetings lately but it depends on a few factors that I am not entirely certain of. They do monitor forecasts in the week leading up to a racemeeting, and will enact Heat Policy Level 1, 2, or 3. they have cooling mists, showers in the stabling area and water available in th...

Devastating news from Cambridge Stud as they today had to make the decision to put to sleep their champion sire Tavistock (Montjeu) aged about 14 due to complications from his freak paddock accident 8 weeks ago. This is the 3rd stallion they have lost in the past few months from I think 6 that were ...

Oh I have hundreds of these: A customer came in to the shop where I work and asked if we sell banana bread. Manager looks shocked and says we are a fish shop and sell fresh fish. Customer says I know but do you sell banana bread?

@ Rugby Girl, was The Opera House bred last year for a 2019 foal?
Yes she had a Charm Spirit filly, a full sister to Utzon, but it was another bay
