Re: American Pharoah's Children

The problem with Danehill is not that he appears in pedigrees but that they appear in pedigrees so many times, he can appear 3 or 4 times in one pedigree which is problematic! Al Akbar stood in New Zealand he wasnt a very popular sire, there were only about 110 broodmares in NZ, so only a handful of...

Re: American Pharoah's Children

Spanish Chestnut is still unraced. I think she may be the only racing-age offspring from an AP/Danehill cross. 2017 crop also has Tiger Touch as AP/granddaughter-of-Danehill. I haven't yet looked at the Southern Hemisphere and 2018+ foals to see what counts we have on those crosses down there. Dane...

Re: Australian Racing

On a completely different tangent, I am wondering if it was ever publicized why Minardi, the stallion, died while at stud in New Zealand at the age of 14? Anyone know? Have not found any announcement for his cause of death but it was a while ago. Interesting horse to look up he spent two years shut...

I see a lot of US based horses on that list so it might still be in America. I have always tried to follow that horse since the Bay Of Plenty is in New Zealand

Re: Stallion News

I hope solutions can be found for the handsome son of Lonhro. IIRC, Starspangledbanner was also deemed 'subfertile,' but he has apparently responded to whatever treatment he got and is siring good runners. First horse I thought of too and from memory they just put him on the back of the farm and le...

Also, I hate to hijack the thread but is anyone else surprised by how much the Pharoahs seem to prefer turf? I mean, I figured he would get winners on both surfaces but I didn't think there would be this much of a disparity.
Good news for his Aussie babies!
