Re: Foals of 2020

Mares can have foals naturally after having a c section prior. The risks are slightly higher, but not overly so, assuming she recovers well. I wouldn't breed her this year, but if she were mine and recovered really well, I'd breed her again in the future. Now we don't know exactly what happened tha...

Re: Foals of 2020

In case anyone hasn't noticed, I really love bays--especially those with chrome! He's a cutie, and looks as though he could almost pass as a quarterhorse! He's a happy boy, all covered in mud. He is just such a sweetheart! All he wants is his carrots, cuddles and rolling in the mud  His first ...

And he is also the sweetest...

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

Trainer Gianluca Bietolini in France has a mini Talismanic. A 3yo colt called Homesweethome by Frozen Power out of Paula d'Arcadia. So far he has placed 4th twice in three runs. https://www.facebook.com/1477799442515303/photos/a.1479963338965580/2021408858154356/?type=3&theater https://www.facebook....

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

I've mentioned this before in the black thoroughbreds thread but from what I've seen researching black horses Europe seems to want to register everything that isn't chestnut as bay. No dark bay/brown or even brown, absolutely no black. There definitely aren't many horses registered as black in Euro...

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

In the UK/Ireland it's usually the 'reddish' greys (chestnut or bay as base colour) that are registered as grey or roan, and the 'normal' greys are just registered as grey.
