Re: Day 2

Yes @ stark, unfortunately there are parents that spend whatever money they get, whether it's a government check or a small work paycheck, on drugs, so the children don't get fed or get fed very little. If the authorities know that to be true, then take the kids away from them. When there is a panh...

I'm still trying to figure out how betting on Fonner Park races makes one a degenerate.

Re: End of harness racing

And then there are those who have zero tolerance for waiting 30 minutes until the next race.

At the Derby, when it's 75 minutes to the feature race, watch for folks betting elsewhere, simply amazing.

Re: End of harness racing

I'm still trying to figure out how betting on Fonner Park races makes one a degenerate. Probably a good thing you don't know from experience. Step one is to have an on-line wagering account. Step two is to hit a good score late in the day on Sunday at a major track. Step three......You might be wal...

Re: Santa Anita to close ...

Make me the boss, here's what I'd do...... I'd immediately give up on the idea of trying to reschedule the Santa Anita Derby squeezing it in sometime before the scheduled closing date of June 23. I'd get on the phone with Del Mar racetrack and negotiate doing what's right for the industry. Schedule...

Asmussen @ Oaklawn.....lost about 50 in a row!?
Last 100+ races fewer than 10 winners.
Can this be true?

For my money, still love Winning Colors just blowing away the boys in 1988, and there were some decent horses behind her that day.

Re: Your Favorite Santa Anita Derby

I'll Have Another really was a fantstic horse. His Preakness is one of my favorite races of all time, and I have little doubt he would have taken the Belmont if he had been healthy. A shame he isn't talked about more. I think the lack of respect going forward had a lot to do with who is trainer and...
