Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

I think the biggest shocker isnt War Front siring a Triple Crown race winner... its a Sadler's Wells mare producing a War Front one LOL

Re: 2019 Three-Year-Olds

I wasn't sure where to post this since it was a Preakness undercard but can I just say that Gladiator King has one heck of a heart. That horse races ALL THE TIME, and each time (now that he is in sprints) he gives 110%. I'm glad that they found his forte in sprinting.

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

It appears the real winner of the race was Bodexpress! Twitter is hilarious right now, and it's nice to see some mainstream positivity. And I have to give him credit- he switched leads beautifully the whole way around! I do hope they run him in a maiden one of these days... Wow... you aren't kidding

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

If somebody made a drinking game about how often the Derby would be brought up on NBCSports/NBC, they'd be dead from alcohol poisoning by now. I really hope there is a brilliant performance today so we can focus on that instead.

Awwww.....how wonderful to see him happy and healthy at such an advanced age. How old would he be in human years?

This says 35 is 105 so close to that! I am so happy that Japan is taking such good care of this gorgeous old man <3

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

That doesn't shock me at all. When Max came over, WoW pretty much was right on his butt an inch or two away from stepping on him completely. Just shows how lucky we are that WoW didn't completely fall down during the race.

Re: 2019 Preakness Stakes

Kudos to Bill Mott for putting his horse first. I'd rather a trainer care about his horse's health than run them when they are not at 100%. I swear that every time I read twitter comments I wonder if they really only care about the horse's safety/health right after they die. Bill Mott is one of the ...

Re: 2019 Kentucky Derby

Also, is anybody else slightly amused at all by the fact that Lookin at Lucky, who had a nightmare trip in his own Kentucky Derby from post position #1 and probably cost him the race, gets his first Kentucky Derby winner due to post position #1 being roughed up. I find it sort of ironic "Lookin At L...

Re: Horse Racing is now officially a joke

The amount of press we are getting over this is insane. All over ESPN, morning news shows, all over talk radio, Donald Trump is commenting on it... this might not be a bad thing. Yeah, tell that to Belmont Park when Maximum Security wins the Preakness and 30,000 people show up for the Belmont Stake...

Re: Horse Racing is now officially a joke

I don't know if this has been posted in other threads, but there's a view of the incident that didn't play on any of the official broadcast. There was a reason Code Of Honor made up so much ground on the rail during the incident. https://twitter.com/CarsoniPH/status/1125028240144457730 Wow, you can...

Re: Horse Racing is now officially a joke

I left horse racing, never to return, when I was 11 and Majestic Prince was robbed of a Belmont win. Since then, I estimate that I've vowed never to return approximately 300 to 400 times. Based on historical precedent, I'm guessing that my outrage over the Derby will last about two weeks. (I'm stil...

My initial reaction was no; he was much the best. But the more I watched the replays, it became harder and harder to ignore the several horses he bothered at such a critical junction of the race. one of the stills posted in the derby thread does show his back hooves between i think WoW's front hoov...

I still can't figure out why Flavien Prat was the jockey to claim a foul?
Did NBC even talk to Casse or Tyler? I would have loved to know their thoughts on this whole ordeal.
