Kate Hunter cracks me up  Kate Hunter • Marugai Racing • ケイト ハンター• まるがいレーシング 2h 2 hours ago Lani (JPN) made himself heard before he was seen but other than one bit of acting up he was pretty tame! That happens when you get your dream job I guess!! I love Lani. He's quite the personality, which...

Re: 2019 Foals

@Tachyon, I came across this on Facebook. Do I understand it correctly? Ginger Punch was bred to Chrome and she had a filly? I thought Ginger Punch was in Japan. Was she shipped back here to be bred to Chrome? If so, I'm delighted a mare of her quality was bred to him. Chrome has been receiving som...

I think it was just the wind tbh... Orfevre got a haircut tho, his Barbie locks are shorter & redder. His tail is still nice & long and blonde, fortunately. Awww...I love Orfevre's long, gorgeous, flowing locks. He is pure eye candy. https://media.gettyimages.com/photos/orfevre-at-s...

Heart's Cry (Shadai) with a really good look at that Halo eye. He seems pretty kind, though. 8-)
I like the way Heart's Cry's forelock is parted in the middle. Very fashionable. :)

Here's a really gorgeous shot of California Chrome in the snow. The photo was taken by a Japanese photographer on a visit to Taylor Made, Jan. 30, 2019. It was retweeted by TM on their website.

Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

Early excellence is absolute excellence and extreme excellence. Nonsense! The history of horse racing is chock full of both types of champions -- horses who were early bloomers and late bloomers. Do the names John Henry, Forego and Cigar mean anything to you? They are only two examples of the late ...

Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

Congratulations on the sport for getting this correct. It was the single greatest litmus test in the 50 years I have followed this sport. In fact, there would have been little reason to continue to follow thoroughbred racing if this decision had been butchered. That's the way I looked at it. It wou...

William Nicks bought Make Music For Me for...$1,000 at Keeneland January.
Except for horses with elite pedigrees and/or racing or producing records, the prices were very low at Keeneland January this year.

What an endearing pic of mom and wee one - on a little mattress of alfalfa no less, lol.
Endearing is the perfect description. What a lovely photo of mom and her newborn.

Re: New Conformation Photos

If I were a breeder, especially one interested in breeding a good turf horse, I think I'd rather have a 15.3-hand, balanced Scat Daddy than a heavy-on-the-forehand, 17+-hand hulking Scat Daddy who was retired after, what, four months of racing with leg/foot 'issues.' :P 8-) I agree. The breed-shapi...

Re: Stallion Headshots Collection

This is not, strictly speaking, a pure head shot, but it is an incredible, fun, head-on shot of the very athletic California Chrome. I can almost hear the boing-boing from those springy legs, https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/49238888_1972997759443559_7023983417024839680_n.jpg?_nc_...

To each their own, but yeah.

Speaking of Big C, though, he does have a new conformation photo. I much prefer it to the previous one.
I wish greys stayed that way instead of turning white. "Big C" is really quite beautiful at this point in his life.

Checked in on FP this morning. Love and Pride is in her stall eating, and covered in mud from an apparently lovely roll.

Also, it's a real pleasure to see a daughter of Winning Colors among the FP mares this year.

This page has some nice photos of the stages of foal shed with a few different colors:
