Re: Day 2

Oh I didn't mean you or anyone in particular, Tessa - we're all stressed out and worried. I just thought I would explain the way my own district in my own state works. Every state is bound to be a little bit different... which is why I hope that Mylute's governor and school districts will be able to...

Re: Day 2

Before tempers simmer over - Mylute, I fervently hope that your district/s are just waiting for confirmation of the federal waiver that is required to continue providing meals for students. I hope hope hope your governor has applied for that waiver. For those who may not have a lot of experience wit...

Re: The opposite of social distancing

Yep, in California we've seen the same at the beaches and state parks, the governor finally had to order the park service to close all 208 vehicle parking lots associated with them, in an effort to limit the numbers of idiots crowding the beaches and trails.

Re: Racing in Japan

Buena Vista's Japan Cup is a bitter memory. :( But watching yesterday, I was happy for Mozu Superflare - there was clearly contact that impeded. Poor Diatonic might have deserved better than third with a clear lane, and Gran Alegria was flying at the end. The footing seemed rather deep, too.

Patrick Stewart has been reading Shakespeare's sonnets, one a day, on Twitter... which got me thinking that I started but never finished my box set of William Shakespeare's Star Wars (and of course the sequels, The Empire Striketh Back and The Jedi Doth Return  ). I can't really handle anything...

I'm basically turning this ridiculous online laboratory skills course into a bunch of tiny Dungeons and Dragons sessions, and today one student said it's "like a murder mystery game, but with science!" Honestly, that makes it all worth it. That's fabulous - just think, you might end up inspir...

Re: Mandatory DNR in American covid19 patients..ethics violation yes or no?

It's far from a simple yes or no choice, I think, under the circumstances we're facing. But I - speaking only for myself - would rather understand going in that there would be a blanket DNR policy (obvs only in case of extreme ventilator shortage), no matter how hard that would be, than to put anyon...

Wow, that sounds scary. :? This potentially deadly disease is easy to prevent, but it can be challenging and expensive to treat Neonatal isoerythrolysis (NI): This mouthful of a term literally means the destruction of a newborn foal’s red blood cells. The debilitating condition, in which a mare’s an...
