Re: Awesome Again pensioned

We saw him at Adena Springs the day after this year's Derby. He looked superb, he knows he's the King. The stallion manager and the handlers were so very proud of him.

How was Shaman Ghost doing?
They said he is doing really well. I think they said he got around 85 mares and almost all of them checked in foal. You could tell they are very proud of him. He seemed like a real sweetheart.

Re: Stallion News

Went to Adena Springs on Sunday after Derby to visit with the stallions. Awesome Again was looking great, they said he will be pensioned this year. I couldn't get a good shot of Ghostzapper, this one reminds me of when they snuck the horse into the Dean's office in Animal House. Point of Entry takin...

Re: In Memoriam 2019

http://i63.tinypic.com/2jcu9s7.jpg It's All Up to You Fell in the 3rd yesterday at Lone Star Park. I took this picture in the paddock before the race. Euthanized on the track. Montt was pulled up and vanned off in the 7th. I saw him load into the ambulance with a front limp, don't know what his fat...

Re: Happiness

I have two Pekingese, they're pretty great little dogs. Lots of personality. The Pekes in the show circuit are bred to have that long coat, most of them look like my little man Baxter:

Re: Westchester vs. Nassau?

North and just south of 27. We don't have kids so schools are not a concern for us (except keeping the kids off our lawn :D ) Even though the commute to Westchester looks to be about 20 minutes less, the property taxes are kind of a turn off. Sea Cliff and Glen Cove on the North Shore look like priv...

Re: Westchester vs. Nassau?

Why are houses 50-100k less in Baldwin, N. Freeport and Malverne? Some of the houses look just as nice as the other areas we've been looking at.

We really like Westchester, but Jeez the property taxes are insane.

Re: Westchester vs. Nassau?

The dumping waste thread did prompt me to post, but in a good way. I'm loving all of the suggestions. The NY real estate market is not for the faint of heart! Freeport was on our original list but when we started to drill down it didn't make the cut. I'm kind of addicted to the google earth 360 view...

Westchester vs. Nassau?

I've gleaned from posts here that there are quite a few New Yorkers on TBC. My husband's business has plans to expand to NY next year. The warehouse space that we'll work out of will most likely be in Long Island City (not set in stone, but most in our industry warehouse there). We want to live in t...

My husband and I were at Nobu last night and besides the yummy Sushi, we had their Miso Black Cod, so delicious and draft Asahi that they somehow make the foam very dense and mix with lime zest. :D :D :D :D

Re: Jill Baffert's Derby dress

It's current, this year's Derby. I saw a pic of someone wearing the same dress at a local society event, that's why I was curious who designed it. This seemed like a departure for Jill, she usually doesn't dress so frilly for the big races.

Jill Baffert's Derby dress

Is on display at Kentucky Derby Museum. Saw a pic of a woman wearing the same dress at an event in our local newspaper. I'm curious who the designer is, does anyone recognize?

Re: To get in the spirit of things...

I'm one of those weirdos that enjoys a well made mint julep. Just like most bourbon cocktails they should be savored after the ice has melted a bit and the flavors have melded. Do yourself a favor and pass on the juleps in the commemorative glass and get the hand muddled version made with Woodford R...
