Sham.
a TC winner in almost any other year, he sure got unlucky being born in '70.
Speaking of which, I'm surprised there's no love for Alydar yet.
I mentioned him, but I am surprised no one else has.

Re: Horrible Names For Horses

I'd rather simple and practical than some of these names. Are they, less than inspiring, yea but they are better than many of the names out there and they at least sound good in a list of winners. But each to their own, if you like more unique names, more power to you. I like the unique ones too but...

Re: Standout Losing Efforts

I thought Chrome getting his ankle torn open at the start of the 2014 Belmont but still managing to run a close fourth was impressive. That and his last BC race. I mean if Arrogate isn't there he wins with one of the largest win margins, and it took Arrogate every bit of that stretch to catch him. ...

Re: Big Saturday @ The Spa

What happened with War of Will? He seems like the type of horse that when he is on, he is really good, but when he is off, he's really bad.

I still think Omaha Beach is the most talent 3yr old, but that, of course, remains to be seen.

Re: Saratoga 2019

I read that they may postpone the start or the card if the heat index is too high, but I read this article found on FB, so I don't know if it's accurate.

Seems like the best idea, don't have to run the horses and jockeys in this stupid heat, without having to move it to another weekend/canceling.

I couldn't donate a lot but I would be more that happy to donate.

This is one of the best horse racing forums I have found and I'd hate to lose it

Re: Royal Ascot 2019

This may be a dumb question, but why don't they have "ponies" and outriders during their meets?

Is it just the way they do things or do they have a specific reason?

Re: 2019 Belmont Stakes

This crop of three year olds is just unlucky it seems.

Hopefully, they both come back healthy as 4 yr old. I also read War of Will is a possible for running at 4.

Re: 2019 Belmont Stakes

I think Tacitus stands out here, but I like Intrepid Heart and Sir Winston a bit. Intrepid Heart had that weird start in the Peter Pan that may have thrown him off his game, but he kept grinding along in the stretch and that's a pretty good thing for the Belmont. Sir Winston can't be as far back as...

Re: 2019 Belmont Stakes

That's a pretty cool stat about Tapit, and I didn't know that only he and Man O War held that record.

Question, is the post real important for a race like the Belmont, or how the track is configured?

Re: Gary West makes an interesting challenge...

I agree that the idea of the challenge is intriguing and cool, I just wish he didn't sound like such sour grapes though.

His attitude about this whole situation is what ruins the challenge for me honestly.

Re: 2019 Belmont Stakes

i expect riderless horses, interference, an errant flock of geese on the track, and a dog that broke free from its humans tryin to join the race. anything less and i'm going to complain. Would the promised drama that will happen if War of Will wins, be good enough? lol But seriously, I would love f...

Re: Kentucky Derby : Do you agree with the stewards decision?

I mean it is an interesting proposal but of the general public doesn't know it's happening, what "good" will it do?

Seems like a nice cover up for being a sore loser though.

If War of Will wins the Preakness will people's opinion change? Will they all of a sudden agree that Max interfered with WoW? What if Country House wins?

Can't wait for the drama that will happen in two weeks.

Re: Positive Outcomes From The Derby

I think it also makes people see that the industry does value the safety of horse and jockey over money and “tradition”. That rules are rules regardless of how big the race is. Many people have no clue that DQs are inconsistent and about the Bayern situation so it makes horse racing look good at the...
