Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Bill of Rights, 4 year old gelded sibling to Colonel John and Mr Hot Stuff, won the 3rd today at Keeneland.

Their 2 year old full sibling, a colt named Seal Six, runs Friday in Keeneland's 6th race.

Sweet Damsel has 9 winners from 9 starters. Not a bad broodmare.

Re: Champagne Stakes (G1)

While I'm goong for Strong Mandate, I find it particularly intriguing that Honor Code has quite possibly the highest Bris late pace figure I've ever seen - 138. If anyone can run down Strong Mandate, he may be the one,

Re: Horses We'd Like To Own (not the obvious ones)

Hazards of Love. Took 19 tries to break his maiden, spent a while in the Louisiana claiming ranks. Now at age 6, he's won four straight and nine of his last thirteen starts (including a last-out win in a starter allowance at Churchill), and he's hit the board in 31 of 46 starts. He's entered in a h...

Horses We'd Like To Own (not the obvious ones)

I've thought of starting this thread for awhile, simply because I keep my eyes on some cheaper / lesser known horses just to see how they fare as their careers progress (or, for the most part, regress). I remember Caracortado when he broke his maiden, but I also have seen how Compari has regressed (...

I believe he got a 103 ot 104 Beyer. Whatever he got, he sure looked good doing it. Hope he continues to develop as a 4 year old.

Re: Awesome Again Stakes (G1)

It's Gary Stevens' world and we're just living in it. It is going to be interesting if Will Take Charge and Mucho Macho Man hook up in the stretch of the Classic...and the two towering colts find themselves alongside another horse who can actually match strides with them. Paynter didn't disgr...

Re: Beldame Inv. (G1)

There's also the fact that she's not BC nominated, so it's a pretty penny to enter her even though she won a win and you're in. She'd have to supplement for about $180k, and who knows if they want to do that on top of not really wanting to ship in the first place. Really don't think it's the money....

And has he had a bang-up day today or what? Two wins, 2 seconds. I thought it was a great idea putting Stevens on board too.

,,,, and he just won the Unzip Me.

Re: Awesome Again Stakes (G1)

Interesting Haskin observation - Mucho Macho Man is 6-for-6 when he has the lead at the eighth pole, 0-for-14 when he doesn't. Does everyone remember when Paynter was the next coming of Pegasus? Has that ship sailed? I don't know if it's sailed, BUT he lost A LOT of ground going VERY wide into the ...

Ok, I take back what I said in the Beldame thread. That was a WOW performance over (save Royal Delta) a better field than the Beldame.

So glad Tiz Flirtatious got her G1!

Vionnet (daughter of Cambiocorsa, like Schiaparelli), did well to finish a very close 3rd. She ran her final quarter in :22 and change. How fast did the other two in front of her at the finish run theirs, I wonder? 1:58.98 is blazing fast.

Re: VOSBURGH Invitational (G1, $400K, 6F)

Wow, 1:08 flat. That was fast and gritty too. Good on Private Zone.

This is precedent-setting, all the horses I was rooting for are winning (at least on the East Coast).

My very heartfelt sympathies, having gone through the same thing less than a month ago.

Judging by the earlier posts in this thread I saw a lot of parallels between your mom and my mom, El Prado. Big hugs for you!

Re: Beldame Inv. (G1)

I am a big fan of both Princess of Sylmar and Beholder, but IMO it doesn't matter if Beholder wins the Zenyatta and the BC Distaff (you never know, she's 4 for 5 at SA), the Princess did the job today and gets the 3 year old Eclipse, for me, at least. Just did a Wikipedia search on both the Alabama ...

War Horse, Anyone?

I live in L.A. and from 10/8 to 10/13, War Horse will be at the Pantages in Hollywood. There will be matinees on Saturday and Sunday. I would like to buy 2 tickets, but unfortunately I don't have any friends who live in L.A. who enjoy live theatre! So, if there is any TBC person local to me who'd li...

The only horse rivalling him for number of works was Eblouissante.

Why not run him back in an allowance, I wonder? Is this the hyper-fast track to the BC (or a breeding deal, or both).

Re: Cotillion Stakes H. (Grade I)

'Missing the 'mark' works. I genuinely hope they were kidding. Sorry, genuine as can be. I never would have headed down this path if they were planning on running in the BC Distaff. It's no big deal, I'm not knocking the filly or the connections. They aren't taking any chances with the trophy, and ...

POS is not a good nickname. ;) I was thinking who are they calling a piece of S*&^. hahaha

But I agree on the Missing the mark thing. :)
I'm typing on a tablet so hence the unfortunate abbreviation of her name. :)
