Re: Report: Zayat Sued for $23 Million, Sold Shares in American Pharoah

Take horses out. What Zayat basically did was buy a home with a loan. Then he took out another loan using the unpaid house as collateral and bought cars. Then sold some portion of the land his home is on and then sold a few rooms. Then he sold the cars off. Then he stopped paying his mortgage and th...

Re: Question about XY jet death

There's some argument about whether a necropsy was required for XY jet...would he have been required to have one? Even though he died in the shed row? I thought necropsy was required for all horses who died on track property even deaths not directly related to racing accident or injury I dont know ...

Re: Bramlage's Mongolian Groom report

As an avid racing fan for almost 3 decades, I can’t ever recall being given this much detail on any breakdown. Even Barbaro didn’t give us this level of “how it happened” and I think it goes a long way in the “Information Age” to give anyone access to this. I would love to see this level of transpar...

Curious to see how much #44 She's Grumpy from the great WV-bred dynasty of Roberta Grump will go for. I followed her dam and half-brother (and her aunts, and her cousins...). She's Grumpy was a PS for $4000 to Michael Slezak, the entertainment journalist turned bloodstock agent for NY's Kaz Hill Fa...

Re: Keeneland January

Tizso was bought by a lady I know, Michelle Crawford of Crawford Racing. Her and her husband are known more in the Standardbred world, but they have owned El Deal and Shancelot. Michelle is very into horse aftercare and she said Tizso will be pensioned after having her foal I saw someone share her ...

Example from 1 sales results...

Shackleford's 2017 fee was $15K.
At the KEE September Yearling Sale, 27 Shackleford yearlings went through the ring.

6 were RNA, 4 of those eclipsed the $15k mark
21 sold, only 9 of those for more than $15k

Re: Arrogate offspring confirmation

You know what would be sorta nice. Instead of every industry reporter just quoting the same consignor/breeder pie in the sky quotes about how good their colts and fillies from the first few crops of new stallions are looking, maybe having someone with a good foundation publish a critical look at ov...

Marr Time - f. Not This Time x Leslie's Lady Ick, that's the name they gave her? First thing I think of is Minimal Accepted Rate of Return aka MARR....which, geeze, that's kind of cold in a literal thought process (the filly was the minimal return that could have been produced from the breeding?) ....

Re: Stormy Liberal gets trainer switch

Not that it absolves them, but Rockingham was bought out of their share by the other owner - Bernsen. The single owner is the one moving the horse to FL and a new trainer. Why shouldn't it absolve them? I should have added completely ... I do not know the details of the transaction or the agreement...
