Nice to see that AP is still as sweet as ever. A rarity in a breeding stallion, most are either hot or just kind of nasty because of the testosterone
No, he still does hands-on meet 'n' greets, at least as of last May. :)

Re: 2019 derby prep races.

I know it translates as "More Than Perfect," but it also brings back memories of learning French grammar! The plusque parfait is a verb tense--IIRC, the one that corresponds to "I had visited, I had seen," etc. 8-)

Not sure why but that just scares the hell outta me.
Godspeed Victor.
For some reason, me too. I was hoping he'd quit, but as long as he is fully healed and there is no added risk (unlike Gary Stevens) if he falls again, I suppose I should accept it.

Re: 2019 Three-Year-Olds

I didn't realize the Kentucky Derby went up to 3MM.. I too regret cannibalizing purses for other stakes and overall at the track. Nobody is not going to run in the KD because the purse is "only" $2MM, but adding $5000 to the purse of 200 races over the meet. . .makes a difference. But it is a reflec...

Mckinzie swishing his tail just before Battle of Midway came back--typical, not sure it cost him.

Dabster out. I was actually going down to the track today, but, er, changed my mind. Just light rain here 55 miles east but we are closer to the desert and never get hit as hard. Shame about the timing.

Trying to luck into the next Raise a Native or Malibu Moon, I suppose. Valiant Minister was a $680,000 OBS juvenile, then won his only start for Baffert, six furlongs in 1.08.82. Second dam is Lunar Spook. How many mares did TGM get his first year?

Dessman easy winner and they said he weighs 200 pounds more than any of the others in the field.

He did seem like he had more growth than his adversaries; I just wonder if he didn't mature too soon and will be passed up. Tempus tellus.

Re: 2019 Three-Year-Olds

Bad break or no, that was a really ugly race by Coliseum. A horse did seem to come across him at the top of the stretch but I'm not sure he was showing any finish anyway. Yuck. They said he was fighting Talamo early after the bad start and it might have been better just to let him go and see what ha...

DISH satellite gets both but you have to buy an expensive package with lots of stuff you don't want. I was horrified to discover a set of channels featuring titles like "Schoolgirls Wet and Wild." :o (And that's a sample title--most of them I couldn't print!)

Peace Rules - wow - that's a name from the past. Loved that horse - a real competitor. Am I remembering right that Bobby Frankel trained him?
I', pretty sure yes but I do tend to get him confused with Midas Eyes. :?
