Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

Can somebody here who doesn't believe the "hay theory" please tell me how it did happen, thanks. Irrelevant. The horse had more than the permitted amount of this performance-enhancing substance in his system, and therefore must be disqualified. Now, if you can prove that this over-the-limit substan...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

I don’t know why what Graham said matters? The limit is 75 and he had 300. It’s not like the 75 limit is measured different than Justify’s 300. He was wayyyy over the limit and if I read Tessa’s articles right that’s an insanely high level for just “accidental food contamination” I also stated that...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

From today's LATimes newsletter by John Cherwa..... Staying with the investigation for a moment, I looked at the last two 4c violations. (Only two because the CHRB website has become almost worthless since it can’t bring archival stuff into compliance in its current form.) Cliff Sise had one with H...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

Stupid question. Have any of the other trainers and/ or horses with scopolamine positives at the same time as Justify been identified? It may have been obvious in the articles but I can't recall seeing it. Especially if the levels were comparable, how were these cases handled? Thanks so much. And, ...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

It may be a stupid question, but I wonder whether that sort of amount of scopolamine would leave some lasting detrimental effect even after the actual substance had cleared.

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

if he had the drug in his system, should he have been DQ'd from winning the santa anita derby then? and if he was DQ'd from the santa anita derby, did he have enough points without that win to make it into the KY Derby field? are there any horses in California who tested positive for this drug, and...

Re: Article in New York Times states Justify failed a drug test before the Derby

Excellent summary, Tessablue. Isn't the CHRB accountable to anybody? It would be nice if there were somebody. If the amount really was 300 nanograms per milliliter, that's not just a wee bit of jimson weed making it into Justify's hay ration. That's apparently a multiple of the previously posted lim...

Re: Korea Breeding

What I'd like to know now is this...what is meant by "initiated the PROCESS to return Take Charge Indy?" If the Koreans have acquiesced to WinStar's right to bring him home, then WinStar should arrange for one or more of their reps (including a veterinarian) to fly over and bring him back ASAP. I r...

Re: Waiting for news on ...

Fast and Accurate hasn't had a race or workout since July. Not a lot of time has passed but I'm curious if he's shown up on any vet lists. On SkKychai Racing's facebook page, there is an August 9 photo of him "Fast and Accirate [sic] out for a gallop". https://www.facebook.com/skychairacing/ But, t...

Re: Korea Breeding

I was quiet shocked to see Take Charge Indy in this condition. I met him 2016 at Winstar Farm and I could not wrap my head around why they are allow this. It’s a shame. These lovely souls have never done anything wrong... It's not the horses who do anything wrong. Human beings are to blame. P...

I think the name of the farm was Gallagher Farms, and that it was owned by Ira Drymon. Now, whether Polynesian was buried there or not, that I don't know. But you might want to search on that spelling.

Imperative has been un-retired...making me wonder why??? I never saw anywhere that said he was retired besides that vague, not really sure what it meant, post by Old Friends. https://www.paulickreport.com/horse-care-category/imperative-loves-having-a-job-to-be-retrained-for-new-career-by-ntwo/
