Stormy Sunday (dam of Hansen, Anonymity) ---> Curlin

Curlin? :? Because they're tired of getting those good Tapit runners?

Re: Donnacha O'Brien turns to training

He's retiring at 21!? wow. If he isn't battling weight and height like Joseph, it's hard to imagine a jock that young ( with two riding titles to prove he's actually a really good rider ) calling a halt to his career. Well, I wish him the best; his dad and bro should be pretty good advisors.

"...the trainer who reportedly complained how could he keep running his lame horses if he couldn't use Bute."

If he really said that, that a-hole needs Communist Chinese labor camp-level mental 'reeducation.'

Re: Declaration of War

I have been a fan of this horse ever since he won the 2013 Juddmonte International, and his close 3rd in the 2013 BC Classic proved that he was also excellent on the dirt. He's a gorgeous, versatile horse, and I've hoped that he would be a worthy heir to the Danzig line. It would be a shame if he di...

I'd love to see how his dapples would shine in bright sun against that dark bronze coat. 8-)

I hate ALL the Photoshop-outlined portraits, but Talismanic's has to be the worst. Who thought it was a good idea to outline on a white background a horse with that much white? He could have Clydesdale-length feathers on his front legs, but who can tell?

Re: Photos/News about Broodmares

Shameful , the dam of 2yo Filly and Champion Female Sprinter Indian Blessing, has been moved to Lazy E Ranch in Oklahoma. After the 20yo mare had foaling problems this past spring, her owner decided to only let the mare continue to produce foals via embryo transfer. So, she will bred ( via AI, I'm ...

IIRC, when Doc Allred committed to improving Los Al to handle the TBs displaced from Hollywood Park and Fairplex, the track was enlarged to a 1-mile, not-quite-oval surface. Should handle a 7/8ths race with a standard two turns.

The hysterical social media blitz has made Gulfstream decide to not let Green Gratto race. https://www.paulickreport.com/horse-care-category/nine-year-old-grade-1-winner-will-not-be-permitted-to-run-after-social-media-uproar/ I don't know if GG's owners will try taking him to a different track...or ...

Re: Stallion News

Since QH breeding allows AI, it nearly is free money. All the farm has to do is collect semen, which can be used for more than one impregnation. And the stallion doesn't even have to deal with the stress of a live breeding. It's not like this hasn't been done before. IIRC, the great Storm Cat himsel...

From Bloodhorse: https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/237134/agreement-in-place-to-sell-california-chrome-to-japan This part made me wonder if the push to sell came more from Perry & Martin than from the Taylors. The 'foot bruise' that kept Maxfield out of the BC Juvenile turned out to be a bit more serious; a “mildly displaced” chip in his ankle. He has undergone surgery and will be given at least 60 days off before returning to Brendan Walsh's barn. https://www.paulickreport.com/news/thoroughbred-racing/pr...

Re: Black Thoroughbreds

It's possible that that this Caravaggio colt will end up grey. When I first saw Caravaggio ( 2yo at Ascot, maybe? ), he looked as black as midnight. The Scat Daddy colt eventually started showing those soft bits of grey in his tail and on his head, so he will probably end up as pale as his dam sire,...

Beautiful Devil ( Devil His Due ), is a 7-year-old mare scheduled to be sold Nov. 16 at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. She may not have a sterling racing pedigree, but she will be the last white horse sold that was bred by Patchen Wilkes Farm. https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/ar...

That's a powerful article by Donna. The LA Times should publish THAT, instead of running another photo of PETA protesters.
IMO, referring to them as an extremist sect is apt. :(
