Re: Ramseys lose appeal to have claim voided...

The Ramsey's have won everthing in sight, including setting the Keeneland Fall meet record. Kitten's Joy stands for $100,000 next year. If Blues and Silvers was that vital to the Ramsey's plan for the future...then she shouldn't been in a 40k claimer. Or Mr. Ramsey could part with a tiny tiny fract...

Re: Match Races & Walkovers In Horse Racing

I am reminded of the moment when I get in my recently purchased car...and realize the new car smell is gone. I may be wrong, but isn't this the inaugural highjacking of a thread...by discussions of Trevor Denman and the perils of being a race track announcer....on the new board. <<<Insert Fanfare>>>

Re: Horses We'd Like To Own (not the obvious ones)

I'd like to own Guadalcanal because he made Big Brown lose the Belmont*. Also he's 8, hasn't won a race in 2 years and deserves a nice retirement. http://www.equibase.com/profiles/Results.cfm?type=Horse&refno=7425524®istry=T To pay for his upkeep I'd get Immortal Eyes . He seems like a fun horse...

Re: Shanghai Bobby Retired

If I've invested $25,000 grand with some buddies in a state-bred yearling, my goal is to attempt to see some return on my investment. I breed for and race in 5f-8f races which are the massive majority of races carded. If I went to Keeneland and dropped $600,000 on a yearling....I'm purchasing a colt...

Re: Joyful Victory Retired

She was a classy filly and easy to cheer for. Given the Japanese fondness for Tapit broodmares at auctions, I nevertheless hope and expect her to stay at Fox Hill. Of course, I never thought I'd see Zazu sold as well, so hoping for better with Joyful Victory.

Re: Stakes announced for final Hollywood meet

Hollywood Park was always one of my favorite tracks despite the neglect from its owners the last decade or so. They don't build grand tracks anyone, just racinos, so this is a loss not likely to be replaced by anything comparable. I made a final visit (from Virginia) in July on American Oaks day and...
