Re: Freshman sire title coming down to the wire

Kinda pulling for Dialed in,..it would be nice to see a farm other than Lane's end, Ashford, Darley, or Winstar have the top slot.. Plus Union Rags tried to bite a friend of mine when she visited Lanes end last year.. Dynaformer used to routinely greet visitors by ripping one of their arms out of s...

Re: Charismatic comes home

I think there is another issue here that hasnt been addressed---why are we bringing home aging stallions, primarily from Japan? Does the name Ferdinand ring a bell? Ever since that horror in Japan, owners want to make sure that does not happen ever again so now when it is felt that the aging stalli...

Imagine if he becomes a stallion.....

"Tomorrow, I'm taking my best broodmare over to Frank the Butcher."

There could be some dark but hilarious stallion advertisement possibilities.

Re: Horse of the Year

I thought I read something not that long ago that the number of G1's will be revisited, due to the declining foal crops. It'll be interesting to see what gets the cut. I have always been of the opinion that there shouldn't be a Grade One for two-years-olds until the Breeders Cup and none for three-...

Somebody has to finish 12th.

Or pick up a minor check, as Hoppertunity seems to have made a life mission of.
Just under $3.000,000 in earnings....please God, give me a horse who can pick up 'minor' checks like Hoppy does.

And how could I move past mentioning Mr. Z without revisiting what a predictably idiotic move it was for Kelly to buy that horse after last year's Derby because Lukas wanted to keep trying him in top company on someone else's dime to placate his own ego. Sad. Any recent sightings of that colt anywh...

Re: What Remains of Beulah Park

I was happy not to see horses on it. Those $2,500 claiming races they were running there, where crips ran last before they dropped off the face of the earth was more painful to watch than these drone shots. Penn National Gaming was, and always will be, a black eye for the sport. Absent Beulah Park ...

After all these years, I still haven't quite recovered from that five-horse crap fest that was the 1973 Belmont Stakes. And an even worse race, the four horse 1978 Jockey Club Gold Cup. What a sham! How can you even call it a serious horse race when all you got was Affirmed, Seattle Slew, Exceller a...

Monmouth Park's graded stakes have been doing the slow death spiral for years. The Sapling and Sorority, both once Grade Ones, are now listed. The Monmouth (Meadowlands) Cup, The Philip Iselin, also former Grade Ones have declined to Grade Threes. And a lot of races with good histories, the Pegasus,...

what was the race a few years ago where the horses broke and then all had to pull up and be reloaded and restart? 2012 Dubai Gold Cup. Fox Hunt broke down at the beginning of the race, apparently breaking both front legs. He couldn't be removed from the track and the race was stopped about a quarte...
