Re: Calculator?

I've wondered about him, as well. Miller probably sees that he has not been all that stellar in 2019, and maybe he's getting a long break or they're not at all sure what to do with him. As you point out, he is 7, and I don't know where you would place him in races these days. Too good of a horse to ...

Re: The WAR HORSE Chronicles

Just a brief mention of a couple of War Horses that were followed on these pages who, unfortunately, have recently expired. California race fans may remember 10yo g Eagle Screams , who raced primarily in northern Cal, but on occasion appeared at Santa Anita, as well. At 10, he was still visiting the...

I'm with you, Treve. And Curtis, thanks so much for keeping us updated on Border Run. It's a joy to read about him and to know how well loved and pampered he is! Turns out, everybody is lucky - and that's a good story.

Hollywood Park oldtimers (maybe other tracks too?)

Remember way back when they had the predecessor to these on the grandstand apron?

Oh no. I was a huge fan when she was racing, and stated ( on another forum ) that IMHO she deserved to be served by the finest Kentucky blue blood stallions when she retired. And she was. I don't care that she raced in limited company; if what she did was so easy, then there should be dozens ...

Fort Erie Race Track

For those who may need a respite from the insane world of thoroughbred racing, you may add to the list of zebras, camels, ostriches - et al, the lowly (pun intended) Bassett hound. Tomorrow (9/15/19) is the inauguration of the annual Bassett hound races at Fort Erie, and it looks as if they have ful...

Monomoy Girl could potentially use either the Ack Ack or the Lukas Classic as her comeback race. Both are open to males.
Return delayed.

The infamous 2013 Brooklyn Handicap. A standout losing effort for Percussion simply because he led the entire way into the stretch, and then was lassoed and cold cocked by a 10yo Calidoscopio who was running in an entirely different galaxy for most of the race. That is one race I'll never tire of wa...

Re: Imperative

My understanding was that he would go to OF toward the end of the year - after he was finished racing. Like Flanders, I never heard of any actual retirement just yet. Imperative may be getting tired of racing, but the connections also see that he has earned north of 300K this year just by lollygaggi...
