Re: The rise of Sunday Silence

So I'm not entirely sure, hopefully tachyon can translate better and/or knows more - but it appears that Mer de Glace has an injury of some sort. Graham Pavey says it seems like he might recover and be able to race in the fall? It sounds like he is getting some sort of stem cell treatment & exercisi...

Re: New Conformation Photos

Does War Front have special shoes on in the front? His hooves look strange to me for some reason. Looks like he has easy boots on. I have used them for years on one of my broodmares. They are basically little rubber boots with a tread on the bottom, the farrier glues them on. They are great for hor...

Here's the sales shot of the blazey Scissor Kick filly. Has some interesting socks, too.

Re: Racing in Japan

Well the tweet comments, when translated, refer to slopes of anywhere from 5m to 200m (for a different track) - but there is a PDF where you can see the undulations for the main tracks. http://japanracing.jp/en/jpn-racing/guide/pdf/horseracing_en_05.pdf Wikipedia does mention that the Nakayama jump ...

Such pretty sabino markings... reminds me of my bombproof awesome Arabian gelding that I had when I was a teenager. <3

Re: Racing in Japan

Okay so this is mind-boggling for me (in a good way)... I mean I knew theoretically that Japanese & European tracks sometimes had downhill parts & slopey parts, but holy cow. The incline to the finish at this model of Nakayama Racecourse seems craaaazy! Amazing. via https://twitter.com/katyo...

By the way, the gray's name is Taqueria and the Journey On one is named Westward Expansion.

Taqueria has a pic on PQ.

Yeah she doesn't bother me very much. The PQ photo is pretty nice.

Re: Foals of 2020

Has anyone checked out the Foal Patrol mares yet this year? Anything interesting/exciting soon or are we going to be waiting awhile?

Re: Why chrome was sold

The first one though, the grey - s/he is butt high a bit yes, but the dip doesn't seem to be as pronounced as the others. Are the photos from them closer to yearling age, or closer to two? I dunno, it's always hard to judge until they get some work & muscle development, some always look so awkward. ...

Re: Why chrome was sold

I wouldn't be quite as concerned about the butt-high as I would that three of them seem to have somewhat dippy backs...?

Re: Racing in Japan

Yutaka Take was bitten on the arm by a rival horse just after the start of the G3 Sports Nippon Sho Kyoto Kimpai, aboard Catedral (Heart's Cry) on January 5. It looks IMO like it was the twelve horse, Time Trip, who ended up 13th of 18. https://twitter.com/LongBallToNoOne/status/121526255700...

LOL I read that as Silver ware and expected to scroll up (I'm reading from most recent first) to see a gorgeous grey... not displeased by the hunka hunka bay boy at all, though. His sire Silver Frost (IRE) certainly fits the first description. http://babolnamenes.hu/wp-content/uploads/2018/11...

Re: 2018 foals

Honestly, I don't think the general Keeneland population would have much interest, however good/striking he looks. Tattersall's, maybe if he was by Deep Impact? Maurice is definitely throwing some attractive foals, this first crop will see how deep the interest gets... 8-)

Re: Stallion News

I see your point about the wood; usually the pole barriers they use at the training facilities are metal. And Chrome has an extra one (the higher pole) - from what I have seen before usually they just have the chest-high one. Sometimes they have a sliding door too, but that doesn't seem to be the ca...
