Re: Problems getting into User control panel

I noticed that if you're logged in, you're locked in the same as if you're locked out. I can't access the forum from my home PC as I got bumped out. I'm still logged in here at work (thankfully!), but can't access the UCP, and thankfully you can't log out as I hit that by mistake yesterday and I got...

Re: Oxbow

Lucky Chappy is definitely a rabacino.

I've seen pics of Oxbow's tail. No notable white at all.

Re: Honor Code

That's awful. Cladan has been a wonderful resource and poster for some time now. Thanks a lot Kay... Really? It's not her fault. It's the Internet. I have no idea how anyone could take it seriously. How do you even survive not being surrounded by the occasional nastiness. It isn't the end of the wo...

Re: Food Simple Pleasures

I've been reliving my childhood with breakfast lately :D My mom used to make these, and I forgot how good they were. I love oatmeal, but I don't always have time for watching a pot on the stove in the mornings or cleaning up so that it doesn't set into oatmeal concrete on my dishes. So these are so...

Re: Oxbow

Extravagant roan and splash are at least not un-common in Tennessee Walkers. Seen a number around here.

Re: Oxbow

If anyone is old enough to remember Vigors, can someone tell me why he was registered roan? Back in those days a horse was registered either gray or roan but not both as they are now. If you go back far enough, TB's were even registered Strawberry Roan or similar. Vigors had no color in his coat bu...

Re: Oxbow

Rabacino had been discussed regarding his colour, but rabacinos always have a skunk tail. Oxbow has no white on his tail at all.

It wouldn't, it's quite affordable. TB racing folk just have no interest in 'colour' whatsoever. He could be purple and striped and they'd have no interest in the genetics of 'why?'. Hell, they still call grey horses roans

Re: Oxbow

There's been much discussion of this on boards where there's a strong interest in colour. You can count out grey. You MUST have at least one grey parent to be grey, the gene must be passed down. True roan does not exist in thoroughbreds, outside a few mutated cases in Australia related to Catch A Bi...

Re: Stallion News

I don't think North Light or Silent Name got enough of a shot in KY. Silent Name did race in the US, though. But he's doing well as a sire in Canada, so perhaps he's where he belongs. And he's not particularly good looking :D North Light, on the other hand, is gorgeous. Speaking of North Light, now...

Re: Broodmares ... How does it work?

Perhaps you know of someone who has a brood mare and would be interested in using this free breeding and the owner of the stud would also be interested. Maybe the owner of the brood mare would give your a % interest in the foal for leading them to a free breeding. Just a thought. Now there's a wond...

Re: OMG!! Mom is having a stroke!!!

I'm soo very sorry El Prado

I've read many of your posts about your mom over the years. Rants, funny stories, etc. We could all tell you loved her, even in some of those trying moments so you know she knew that.

My heartfelt condolences to you.

She's definitely going to Japan. She's too good of a broodmare prospect to stay in this country.
When and if she does, the Zetards will lose their ever-loving minds...

Re: Stallion News

I'm still shocked and amazed that El Prado ever got enough mares to prove he was worth the shot in Ky. An Irish bred, turf raced son of Sadler's Wells.....

Just imagine what some other stallions may have done given a slightly better chance.

Shadwell announced just a bit ago that their sire and European Champion Dayjur was euthanized today due to the infirmities of old age. He was 26, stood stud from 1991-2010.
