Re: Birding?

https://explore.org/livecams/bald-eagles/decorah-eagles I love watching the Bald Eagle live feed cams. Full nests at Decorah, Iowa, The Channel Islands, Frasier Point Channel Islands and West End Catalina Island. There has been tragedy, death and drama this year but it's getting time for them to fle...

Too early to invoke Murphy's Law but this is starting to have that kind of vibe.

Re: 2018 Preakness Stakes

By any measurable standard Justify regressed his last 2. But there is a possibility that Justify actually does not like muddy tracks and that is what we are seeing. He might be so superior that he won on them anyway and if he does get a fast dry surface to run on at Belmont he will run off and hide....

Re: 2018 Preakness Stakes

If people want to see bald eagles I recommend the San Juan Islands in Washington state. Also anywhere around Port Townsend and Port Angeles. You won't go an hour without seeing one. Sometimes up close. They aren't shy. I played Tenfold across the board in the Preakness and was disappointed he didn't...

Re: 2018 Preakness Stakes

I'm genuinely curious about how Magnum Moon is doing and if there's a chance he would line up. Early speed and bred to go the distance. If he learns how to run straight. It sounds like a Todd thing to do. I guess we'll see... Feel free to laugh at me, but I feel this way about Solomini. You post to...

Re: 2018 Preakness Stakes

I would agree that Orb is a decent talking point for entertaining the notion of playing against Justify. Orb won his Derby on a perfect set up then regressed in the Preakness. And it wasn't only hard core Shug lovers that thought he would bounce back and run a winner in the Belmont. People who shoul...

Re: Preakness Day

These wet tracks can be hard on horses. I am seeing people remarking that Justify doesn't look good. That would be too bad if he came out of this race off in some way. He's been asked for so much and getting it done. Today's race was not his finest day but considering what he's been asked to do I am...

Re: Preakness Day

Good Magic ran well in defeat but I'd be surprised if he runs in the Belmont, and if he does it's difficult to see him getting 12f. Big question now... does Winstar run Audible in the Belmont? I think Brown has already said no Belmont for Good Magic. It's why he was in here. 3-1 that Mick Ruis anno...

I can see Tenfold moving very forwardly off of his Ark Derby race.

Hopefully they aren't running on a lake Saturday.

Re: 2018 Preakness Stakes

I read that Lone Sailor's trainer wants to try Justify again because the latter ran his final half in 0:53 and change. But what does that say about the horses that finished behind him that day? It says more about the track than any of the poor unfortunately animals trying to plow through it. Fast e...

Re: 2018 Preakness Stakes

It's still early but there is lots of rain forecast for the Baltimore area next week. I doubt Bolt ever runs on a wet track again if they have a choice. Probably a blessing for the horse. He's been playing catch up all winter and spring. Ruiz's first thought was best. Give him a little break and re-...

Re: Justify

He rolls the horse out for a photo op (his, not the horse's) the day after and people notice Justify is favoring his hind leg. Rather obviously. And they are not supposed to wonder and ask about it? Then they get a couple of different stories floated until we can settle on the second one. There is n...

Re: Derby Day Watch-along

Maybe the closers weren't very good but it's more likely the track condition stunted any attempts at moving late. I don't really need Trakus to show me that. The winner handled the conditions and that's all the matters at this point. For a horse with only 3 races coming in (only 1 real one) that is ...
