Re: Stronach: Eliminate Race Day Meds and Sport Will Flouris

Oh go get laid. Maybe you'll be less miserable. God this place has gotten nastier over the years. Not sure what was nasty. If anything you were being nasty about Stronach. Just pointing out money and connections do not guarantee change, which you seemed to be insinuating. Stronach can throw all the...

Re: Ea

The issue is not that horses are still running in $5k claimers. They don't know what they are running against. The issue is that they are well taken care of while running. Unfortunately not all horses live at Fairhill and some trainers and owners view horses as nothing more than commodities, but peo...

Re: Stronach: Eliminate Race Day Meds and Sport Will Flouris

I think Stronach is a pretty savvy guy and he probably knows he can't just muscle in this sort of change. This was probably the most effective approach for him to take. Build support first. The Breeders Cup tried muscle and it didn't really work, and that's the Breeders Cup. More like ruthless than...

Re: Honor Code

Honor Code and being a ridgling http://www.paulickreport.com/news/ray-s-paddock/somethings-missing-here-explaining-ridglings/ Interesting just two preps for him. Wonder if surgery and timing give Shug no other choice. Orb had 3 races as 3yr old leading up to Derby. Guess HC is more proven but the 2...

Re: Stronach: Eliminate Race Day Meds and Sport Will Flouris

Talk is cheap. He owns 6 tracks and dozens of horses. He is free to take the first step. Ban all drugs at all of his tracks and follow suit with everything he races, anywhere he races. If he is right, his tracks should be the first to flourish. If he isn't prepared to put his money where his mouth ...

Re: 2 year olds of 2013

Sound of Freedom worked 5f on dirt today at Pal Meadows. Would love to see son of War Front get to the turf and stretch out this winter at Gulfstream.

Re: $250K profit not enough for NYRA

Increase at Saratoga is fine. You are getting a good product.

Increase at Belmont is irrational. Belmont and Aqueduct should be free, like Gulfstream (with exception of Belmont Stakes). Asking someone to pay to watch weekday racing, and even weekend racing, at two subpar facilities is a joke.

Re: Derby Lists 2014

And it's official, Ria Antonia set for Derby trail, will go for Risen Star first up. Well, somebody has to take one for the fillies, maybe if she does pretty ok, other trainers will fancy trying it with their fillies. I hope they don't this year, unless someone really steps up. Of all the years so ...

Re: Early Oaks Favourites

I agree about the 3YO fillies we have seen so far. It is impossible to be realistically excited about any of them, especially going long, at this point. But, there are likely some lightly raced or unraced horses that will emerge. It's still early, especially by standards these days. Actually Puddif...
