What a wonderful story. He had a cult-like following.

For once I agree with him... Phar Lap was the best racing movie ever.

http://www.oldfriendsequine.org/default.aspx https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.158652991049.127444.62777301049 I think people care. I also think it is a very public issue. I agree, the horses look amazingly well cared for. I think when people fly off the handle about stallions going overseas...

Re: Stallion News

Is it possible some of those other horses that are "less used" (or have small numbers) have fertility issues? Stravinsky and Johannesburg have come from Coolmore where they over breed, that affects long term fertility. Or perhaps they aren't popular or successful enough to warrant big numbers? Aldeb...

Re: CashCall Futurity

peeptoad, I like Tamarando in this race too. I thought his last race was good, although he did have it set up for him. I think he'll appreciate this distance. Hollendorfer always has them ready to run in these big races. The Baffert colt sounds like he's still learning, lots of talent there. I am in...

The only time I really watched Hong Kong racing was when Silent Witness was still running. He was so amazing.

Re: Imported mares and their offspring in Japan

Not everyone follows international racing. I follow Canadian racing, coast-to-coast, and American racing. I watch to see who won the big races in Ireland, France, Australia, Germany, and Japan, but there are so many countries with so much racing, how can anyone follow it closely? Unless it's their j...

Re: Ea

The horse was running at Saratoga 3 months ago for $25,000. He was dumped for $5,000 at Laurel. And I wasn't talking about the owners. He probably has some sort of physical issue. BUT, he did win, which means he still is competitive. My experience with old warriors like him is that if they want to r...

Re: New Conformation Photos

I've actually seen worse. I hate Photoshop- they could easily erase a bowed tendon or a grapefruit ankle. He has quite a long neck, and looks a bit over at the knee. He almost looks like an Akhal Teke (spelling?). Ice Box looks club footed. Crossbow has short cannon bones, and holy cr*p, does he eve...

Re: Ea

I'm not interested in the fighting going on in the six previous pages about this horse.
I just know that when I look at the barn he came from, and I look at that horse's race record, it fits the pattern of that barn.
Definitely a "yellow" flag.

Re: Will Take Charge will be back!

4-year-old seasons can often be the hardest, as the horses are going from racing against straight 3-year-old races to racing against older horses that are tougher, stronger, and more experienced. My experience at the track was that our good 3-year-olds had a hard time in their 4-year-old season, and...
