Re: 2019 Eclipse Awards-Predictions?

I bet the picture of Maximum Security being led away by the groom at Churchill wins the photography Eclipse. Nope the picture of War of Will almost falling because of Max going around the turn won. Has the result been posted or you arguing with yourself? https://www.ntra.com/2019-media-eclipse-awar...

Re: New Conformation Photos

He's not a big horse. He only looked big when he was storming down the stretch. I also think he is in one of the more awkward stages of his let-down from the track.

Re: Siblings (and offspring) of well-known horses

Mungojerrie (2nd dam is Precious Kitten) was 2nd by a head today in a MSW at Tampa. This was a big improvement off his clueless debut at Keeneland. He's a 3YO gelding by Declaration of War.

Re: 2018 names

There was a horse that Jack Van Berg had years ago that raced a few times with the name Lord Phumducker. His name was subsequently changed to Lord Duckworth. It may be apocryphal, but I had heard some announcers—Trevor Denman being prominent—complained about the horse’s original name. Is there a st...

Re: 2018 names

Question -- how long do owners have to change a name? They can change it up until a horse races. In extremely rare cases, a horse's name is changed after racing. For example, the 2YO now known as Scabbard was originally named Noose. After his first 2 starts, I guess someone pointed out the bad conn...

Re: Matings 2019

It looks like the younger mares were the ones who got to Deep Impact and got in foal before he was taken out of stud duty. Tachyon, did you happen to find a mating for Blind Luck? I figure you probably would have posted it already, but just checking :D Japanese studbook (Japanese version) indicates...
