Re: Arrogate offspring confirmation

You know what would be sorta nice. Instead of every industry reporter just quoting the same consignor/breeder pie in the sky quotes about how good their colts and fillies from the first few crops of new stallions are looking, maybe having someone with a good foundation publish a critical look at ov...

Re: 2019 Names

Marr Time - f. Not This Time x Leslie's Lady Ick, that's the name they gave her? First thing I think of is Minimal Accepted Rate of Return aka MARR....which, geeze, that's kind of cold in a literal thought process (the filly was the minimal return that could have been produced from the breeding?) ....

Re: Stormy Liberal gets trainer switch

Not that it absolves them, but Rockingham was bought out of their share by the other owner - Bernsen. The single owner is the one moving the horse to FL and a new trainer. Why shouldn't it absolve them? I should have added completely ... I do not know the details of the transaction or the agreement...

Re: Keeneland January

Thanks Wow, gotta give props to owners of Tizso, selling her at age 25..... Really? That is cold-blooded. I guess they don't want to even try foaling out the Frosted foal she's carrying. Ok, so I'm all about breed your mare if you want - it's their thing and some are way more content with a ...

Yeah, I dont post much anymore because life+kids+job, etc. I do pop in to read at least once a week. Classic: McKinzie looked... something... in his work. I haven't ever watched him work so maybe he's just that way? I wouldn't probably bet him, though. I actually don't hate Mongolian Groom and at od...

Re: Naming Question - Very Close names ?

We have so many Bell, Unique, and Unbridled fillies that I honestly can't tell them apart half the time. Unbridled Forever and Forever Unbridled still trips me up sometimes @ Charles Fipke what are you going to do with these ladies' sons and daughters if you only ever breed to Jersey Town, Medaglia...

So happy to see Mind Your Biscuits with such a nice book of mares. I can't imagine he would have had a book like that in the US?

Any details on mares who might have visited him?

Re: 2019 Keeneland September

Bayerns must not look like much or have female pedigree to support them. 4 offered, 3 of them sold for $3500 or less I remember how disappointed potential buyers were at how the initial Take Charge Indy's looked..... All they did was run. You'd think people would learn not to bail on a stallion at ...

Re: Stallion News

I cant think they're putting all this out there for Omaha Beach who had already been announced as a new sire. They had already announced Mitole as well for the roster. This seems like some sort of "big deal" and a historical move for the farm. Just taking some guesses at who that stall could be for....

I've spent all morning looking through my dresser drawers and under the couch cushions trying to scrounge up enough change to buy hip 498. ;)

Bricks and Mortar is off to Shadai after the Breeders' Cup. I was hoping he'd stay in training for Ascot next year. I haven’t looked too hard, but I imagine the Japanese Breeders’ are investing in that the Giants Causeway is going to mix in well with the massive amount of Sunday Silence. Storm Cat ...

Dam is gray, of course.

Hollywood Girl (Giant's Causeway/Hollywood Story) broke her maiden today at SA.
Without doing the deep dive research, I have to imagine Hollywood Story is about as fine a broodmare after being a top tier racemare as you could ask for. I think I remember she went to Curlin last year.

Mares and value

Question for those in the biz...

When you have a mare with value as breeding stock - is it better to never have raced her than to try her and have her be a low quality racer?

Re: Gary West makes an interesting challenge...

Maybe it's just me, but I actually really like what he's done here. I wish he'd withdraw his lawsuit and move on there... but I like this sort of "my horses vs your horse, 1:1" attitude. Horse racing is built on the shoulders of stupidly wealthy individuals betting each other their horse is faster a...
