Re: 2016 Stallion Fees

I've always been especially fond of Al Khali, so I love that they're marketing and pricing him as they are. Japan is a nice looking horse too, but I can't wait to see all the little AKs.

I never understood what anyone was doing sending their mares to him.

Violence got a pretty good book this year, the 2015 foals I've seen look nice.

Re: Rachel's Valentina

Samantha Nicole isn't a racehorse, but I still hold out hope she's broodmare material. I really expect to see her bred next year.

I think I missed something, what's Funny Cide doing there? Thought he ended up at the KY Horse Park?

I've always been a fan of brands/freeze brands. They are the most obvious form of ID, hard to miss a brand at the auction.

Re: American Pharoah

I was mostly raised on the Saddle Club books series and the original Saddle Club tv production (the one shot in Australia and co-produced between Canada and Australia) as opposed to the recent American remake. There was a remake? Are you talking about the recast third season? Here's a list of the o...

Re: American Pharoah

Cindy's terrible-ness depended on who was writing any given book. I actually liked her a great deal in her earliest books. Tor, on the other hand, was one of the worst characters. It's not hard to read a not at all subtle subtext of him being a cheating asshole. I always wanted Sammy to break up wit...

Re: American Pharoah

Cool that you know one of the ghost writers. Do you recall which books she wrote? I've always wanted to chat with some of the ghost writers, as the main blogger on the Whitebrook Farm blog, I've done a few author interviews in addition to reviews, but never anyone directly related to Thoroughbred. ...

Re: American Pharoah

I likewise grew up religiously reading the TB series (in fact, one of my riding instructors when I was a kid wrote a few of the books in the series and for that I thought she was a god). Cool that you know one of the ghost writers. Do you recall which books she wrote? I've always wanted to chat wit...

Re: American Pharoah

*sigh* I guess the author has never heard of a paddock accident, or stallion fight, or colic or or or... Yeah, this quote: It’s sickening that an animal’s death would go virtually unnoticed, but unfortunately, it happens all the time. Just makes me think, how many horses died the day AP won the Tri...
