Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

I wasn't familiar with the dam, where did you see the pics? I would love to look too. Look here, http://www.whitehorseproductions.com/pintotbs.html That site does have her youngest offspring, Blanc Manger, Marble Cake, Buchiko, or her 2014, all white. Her daughter Yukichan has had a bay f...

Re: horses with unique coloring/facial markings

Hee, in the twitter pic it was hard to see that the one handler has black pants & the other is wearing white pants (brave soul  )... I hope she does well. Who'd have thought a granddaughter of Sunday Silence would look so flashy? Sure he had a bit of chrome, but she takes it to a whole differe...

Re: Interesting Horses for Adoption

I think she's gorgeous. It's been a while since I seriously regretted not being able to adopt (have three already and NO empty stalls) though I'd really rather never own another three year old, especially a mare. The only thing worse is a three year old CHESTNUT mare. Still, I rather fancy having a ...

Re: RIP Z14

Sort of strange to think whatever happened to this horse needs to be known, in order for your horses not to have the same thing happen. Umm... what? As I said, I wanted to know in order to avoid thinking in circles. That's how my brain works, if I don't know all the info I tend to think about it MO...

Re: RIP Z14

Just FYI, I did PM, because I wanted to know in order to avoid thinking in circles about this (having horses myself I get paranoid about pasture accidents). She said it was told to her on the condition that she didn't tell. Sooo... I imagine it will eventually be disclosed if only to shut up the arm...

Re: RIP Z14

Not foals, but our four year old gelding got his leg shattered by another horse's kick and had to be put down. Our older gelding took a fall and broke his neck, though I think he died of a heart attack that caused the fall, and the broken neck was just the result of dead weight hitting the ground th...

And with no foal next year, not that another would replace her. It will be 2016 before another foal of Zenyatta's might be born.

Re: Imported mares and their offspring in Japan

I know that the registries in different countries don't necessarily keep tabs on whether a name is already in use, but it should be noted that we now have two colts named Ontology. There's this 2yo Deep Impact and, here in California, a 3yo Tapit colt. :? http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/thor...

He may have bred them, but they may not be in foal, or he bred several more and four was ALL he got in foal.

Me too, I have exhausted my resources and have reached an informational drought. I'd love to get the numbers as well to give me something to work off of.

Re: Liam Neeson defends NYC Carriage Horse industry

The issue of Billy's "rescue" has been addressed. http://www.equiculture.org/forel-response.aspx The fact is every horse rolls, they used the idea that he was rolling for the "OMG first time EVER on grass!" with absolutely no reason to believe that was the truth but that it sounded like a magical ha...

I saw him, and I swear most of the time I'm the one going, "Hell no we can't have another horse." but I was coveted him just a lot. I'm a sucker for a red horse.

Re: Mocha Joe at Slate Hill Farm

He's basically had three foal crops. 2011 - 1 foal, who died the same year 2012 - 3 foals 2013 - 5 mares were bred, I've found that at least 4 foals were born but not registered Assumingly Mocha Joe died in 2012 or early 2013, as I understand it the 2013s are his last foals. It would be nice if they...

Mocha Joe at Slate Hill Farm

He's a bit of a mystery, obviously he wasn't much of a racehorse and hasn't been much of a breeding stallion (pretty much a backyard breeder). The last report of mares bred submitted for him was for the 2013 foal crop, and no foals were ever registered, but yesterday I found four foals of the five m...
