He's almost certainly a bay with rabicano ticking. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabicano Some other rabicano examples in TBs: http://images.canadianlisted.com/nlarge/flashy-registered-rabicano-thoroughbred-mare_5514323.jpg http://www.journeymanbloodstock.com/Domains/www.journeymanbloodstock.com/CMSF...

Re: Match Races & Walkovers In Horse Racing

I believe Kincsem had one or more walkovers? Four of them were walkovers. Walkovers still count in a horse's record. 8 of Eclipse's 18 victories were walkovers, actually. From ancient times up until the very end of the 19th century match races made up the vast majority of horse racing. An owner cha...

Re: Saez cleared of wrongdoing in Travers Stakes

Mr. Guillot’s written complaint states: “I Eric Guillot am filing a complaint for our lost in the race called the Traver’s at Saratoga on Aug 24th 2013 – My horse Moreno was beat a nose on the wire by horse named Take Charge Indy – After suffering biggest defeat in our career – my brother Chip who ...

Re: Match Races & Walkovers In Horse Racing

There are plenty of de facto match races that were obviously carded for two specific horses but include another horse or three as "filler". i.e. the Lucy's Bob Boy/Russell Road match race at CT back in May that had a 3-horse field. http://www.equibase.com/premium/eqbPDFChartPlus.cfm?BORP=P&STYLE=EQB...

I'd like to own Guadalcanal because he made Big Brown lose the Belmont*. Also he's 8, hasn't won a race in 2 years and deserves a nice retirement. http://www.equibase.com/profiles/Results.cfm?type=Horse&refno=7425524®istry=T To pay for his upkeep I'd get Immortal Eyes . He seems like a fun horse...

Even the Europeans seem to breed for sprinter-milers who can maaaybe stretch out if they have to.

Want to breed a real stayer these days, head to South America. You liked Calidoscopio? There's plenty more where that came from.

For all your American Steeplechasing needs: National Steeplechase Association Central Entry Office The "Reports" page gives the lifetime steeplechase PPs ( including point-to-points! ) of any horse that raced over jumps in the US in the past ~40 years. Same with jockeys, trainers, owners. VERY usefu...

Re: Orb

*unless* Will Take Charge beats PM in the Classic. Is Orb done for the year? Ok...fair enough...Brokers Tip was the worst. Super Saver was second worst. After that performance I'm thinking they'll put him away for the year. I think he'll continue racing next year. Malibu Moon isn't exactly known as...

Re: Orb

Brokers Tip was worse than Super Saver by far. He only won the race because his jockey did this: http://www.sporthorse-data.com/horse/10166690/271/Horse_Brokers_Tip-_2big.jpg and instant replay didn't exist back then. Managed to get his nose in front at the wire, his only win of his career. There's ...

And poor Take Control. Just retire him already.
Breed him to Eblouissante. The resulting foal will have 100 workouts and yet somehow have a negative number of starts.

She's had a fairly long campaign already this year ( 6 or 7 races? Not sure ), so it may come down to how she recovers from this race. If her connections choose to rest her now and bring her back next year, fresh and not wrung out, I could support that decision. We've seen what happens when a filly...
