Re: 2018 Vox Populi Award

Since none of the candidates listed are particularly suitable for the award I propose giving it to a Standardbred this year, Foiled Again . At age 14 and facing mandatory retirement at the end of the year, the richest harness horse in history won his 100th race and then some and made a farewell tour...

Anybody remember Comfort?

Per their website, Comfort began his career as a stallion at Double Tree Farm in New Mexico this year. Got 27 mares.

I presume he's also being bred to QH mares.

So why was Japan sold? Anyone know?
Lack of interest maybe? 16 mares in 2018.

He sold for $50K to...Santa Escolastica, agt. for Tupacireta SRLAG.

So I'm assuming a stud farm in South America.
Tupacireta is associated with Haras Santa Maria de Araras.

Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

Call me a tinfoil hatter, but Justify's win will always be a little tainted for me with the Audible situation and it bugs me that it fell out of people's minds so quickly. Maybe not enough to put an asterisk by his name in the list of Triple Crown winners, but combined with his drastically condensed...

It's you, that looks like a normal dark bay/brown with a winter coat coming in.

9yo Aldous Snow , last seen winning the G3 Singspiel at Woodbine in July of 2017, won an NSA training flat race at Middleburg yesterday. He's now trained by jumps trainer Neil Morris. Interesting... Aldous Snow made his debut over fences in a maiden special weight at Aiken yesterday, where he finis...

Northview Pa
His stud fee is $5,000 live foal, with shares and lifetime breeding rights being offered.

He's an absolute steal at that price.

Not an official confo shot, but Turkish stallion Native Khan is quite a lovely, refined horse. Photo by Kadir Civici.

Re: New Conformation Photos

Call me crazy, but I don't think Orb looks that fat. His neck is huge, but that's not uncommon. He looks a lot like Malibu Moon and the A.P. Indy tribe tend to get swaybacked, often at a fairly young age. They also tend to let down quickly and carry a lot of flesh. "Carry a lot of flesh" = fat. Sta...

The Malibu Moons do seem to be hunks...or chunks, depending on whether you like that look. And they must be easy keepers, because I don't think I've seen a slender one. :P Someone should tell Claiborne that, because they seem to be stuffing poor Orb with grain over there. https://cdn.bloodhor...

Re: 2018 Keeneland November Sale

I'll take Saxet Heights, Aspenglow, Stopshopping Maria, Jessica is Back, and Almudena (now THAT is an interesting pedigree). Also, why do color breeders try to sell their horses at racehorse sales? A bay TB, no matter how good a ~sporthorse~ they are supposed to be, would get laughed out of the ring...

Revolutionary is a great-grandson of Mr. Prospector. It's relatively easy in the US to find a horse free of Mr. P or ND, but not both. That was Flanders' point.

Re: New Conformation Photos

Magneticjim is really appealing. He's interesting in that he's a hurdler with a flat racing pedigree. Not unusual in the US and UK but in France where he raced and stands most of their jumps horses are bred for that purpose. Dam Dibenoise has produced three group stakes winners on the flat. Dibenoi...

Re: New Conformation Photos

I think Mastercraftsman has turned out to be a very nice sire. Magneticjim has the Galileo elegance and bearing, but being that perfect dappled grey sure adds to his good looks. :D Hmmm...don't see very many gray Galileos. Only other two I can think of are Winter and The Assayer. He would have to h...
