Re: Bad EPM drug kills 2 horses in FL

I have to wonder why a compounding pharmacy would use a drug that's not approved for use in horses. I hope the owners of the stricken horses go after that pharmacy with all legal guns blazing. However, I hope that this does no harm to reputable compounding pharmacies who are diligent in using legal...

Re: 2014 Kentucky Derby News & Notes

Question ... wouldn't the owner and trainer have known when they entered as an Also Eligible for the Derby that if they did draw in, they would be starting on the outside? I don't understand why the owners and trainers put him on the AE if they were so concerned about the outside start. They entere...

Re: Grand National

I was about to post this in the Racing section, but it really deserves to be here - how much do pedigrees of these horses diverge from leading lines in flat racing? How useful might they be as crosses to improve soundness and stamina, or is that an experiment that's been tried and abandoned? It is ...

Re: In Memoriam 2014

Not sure I understand the bolded comment above. Recall Dynaformer was a 3YO, on his third start ever - with all three starts since January 1, plus additionally two 5F works also since January 1. Seems a bit excessive maybe? Roger would never, ever, EVER do anything but what he thought was best for ...
