Re: Photos/News about Broodmares

Premature to claim that and no way to know at this point unless you have been trackside for works from the two. Banke years ago mentioned how good a match A. P. Indy was for Rachel Alexandra so I'm sure that played into the decision for Bernardini. And Banke in the last year has mentioned she is ju...

Re: Fun Time: Name the Pharoah babies

"...I thought I read there's a clause in the contract that neither party shall test or know the fertility of the colt until he retires?" That seems an odd thing for either party to want in the contract. What would be the logic in not wanting to know? I mean, we're not talking about sentimental pare...

Re: Foals of 2015

They have raced on occasion, but almost exclusively breed to sell. In the past they have split horses between Taylor Made and Lane's End; I haven't paid enough attention to know if that is still the case.

Re: American Pharoah

I was one of the Negative ones! Although I didn't say that. I said, that it would take a special horse to overcome having Baffert as a TC trainer (because I still think that the QH training style isn't the best for Thoroughbreds who have to run 3 races in a shorter time span than they're used...

I apologize for being the stickler science geek, but muscle does not weigh more than fat. A pound is a pound is a pound, whether it be muscle, fat, or feathers. Muscle is more dense than fat, thus a smaller amount of it is needed to weigh out at a pound compared to fat (or feathers). AP looks great...

Re: Bob Baffert

He's buying horses at sales? You sure about that? Or is he just buying the ones who somebody else circles in the catalogue? I understand the Baffert fan club is going to continue to keep their head in the sand and continue to laud him, despite what some others see as clear signs. I knew that before...

Close. Visible panty line. Some people just leave nothing to the imagination and it is horrifying. Mirrors exist for a reason. I know someone who wears thermal tights as pants to her workplace. It was a bit of a shock the first time I saw it, but she's in her 60s and looks pretty damned good consid...

Re: The VENT Thread

I had my second bloodlettting ("plebotomy" sounds like something you don't discuss in polite company) yesterday. The first prick in my right arm hurt and they took 1/2 a liter of my blood, just like last week. But after that was done, they took my BP and it was down to something like 'call the morg...

Re: American Pharoah

Yeah, they ran it up under his lip when they brought him out, though he was walking the shed row without it. Don't really blame them, there were a good 3 dozen people crowded around. Maybe they use the lip chain as a precaution, so he doesn't get squirrely - if he's sharp and bangs himself, or if h...

Unless you're driving during rush hour traffic, I'd say easily less than 30 minutes apart.

Re: American Pharoah

For a three-year-old stud colt, AP seems remarkably good-natured. To trust that your young stallion won't suddenly nip a stranger's hand, so much so that he's only wearing the normal chain over his nose ( and no restraints in his mouth or over his gums ), says a lot. I'm pretty sure Danzig Moon's g...

Re: Derby Artwork on Woodford Reserve Label

Hey, the third amigo wants to do a Bourbon distillery visit in October and Woodford is my bourbon of choice so I am opting for that. Good tour? Yes. Buffalo Trace also does an excellent tour, and provides a contrast given the sizes of the distilleries. Both tours are worth doing; both bourbons are ...

I lived in Aiken, got into USC, and went to Clemson. I'm not entirely sure what info you need, but if you'd like to PM me specific questions, I will do my best to answer.

are they just hand ridden, or are they american pharoah'd to get the super best fastest time they will ever get in their lives? i don't see a crop there, but i'm also not overly familiar with under tack sales. Most of the sales companies have rules regarding whipping now. This is the policy for OBS...
