Re: Grief

Here's a fact. When posts on the CIGAR? thread started getting grief accusatory, I said nothing. Sham and others may think it presumptuous of me to start a thread discussing the pros and cons of grief, but I'll say it again - I didn't want to see CIGAR's memorial thread mucked up with grousing. I b...

Re: Grief

Actually, every day is a day off of work as I'm retired, and I don’t ever remember pummeling you, Della. If I did and it was unwarranted , you have my sincere apology. See, this is the type of thing that disappoints me. That Della anticipates you possibly pummeling her is indictment enough; that yo...

Re: Grief

I think I'm younger than you, and I already get teary-eyed talking about my racing memories after a few beers, so there's one mark against it being generational. Or at least we are the same age. I can't remember. Also, I started typing with my caps lock accidentally on, and then we'd really be in 4...

Re: Grief

Boy, if this isn't a thread worthy of 4chan. I'm a little sad myself that after having "met" Cigar on two or three separate occasions and being aware of parts of racing career (and obviously his legacy) that my own reaction to his death was, "Oy, that sucks." I think I attributed that mostly to my o...

Re: Travers news and notes

Really? This was only his second start with blinkers and with them he has a first and a second that was almost a first. And he finished well in front of the other 2 horses almost everyone on here seemed to think were better than him before the race was run. My own sense is that the blinkers are get...

Oof. I'm pretty sure Ludicrous (Medaglia D'Oro x Victory Ride) just broke down in R4 at the Spa.

ETA: euthanized on the track.

Re: What Are You Reading?

Underworld is worth the investment. It's amazing. Mao II and Libra dead heat for second. Cosmopolis completes the tri. Come on, man, you as much as anyone should know the above phrase has Cosmopolis coming in fourth. ;) I'd put White Noise over Cosmopolis, but I haven't read Mao II or Libra yet. I ...
