She's named, it was just done well after the catalogue went to press.
Oh ok! I was at work and sort of went over the article quickly and didn't immediately see any mention of it!

At least it's not a kitten.

Well unless she's bred to him/another Kitten.. think of all the names that might bring.

I don't know. I really don't like cats.

Cat of the Nile? They could have gone with Sekhmet, you know the badass lion-headed goddess in ancient Egypt. Or like some kind of reference (her epithets include: Mistress of Dread, She Who is Powerful, Before Whom Evil Trembles, She Who Mauls amongst others) as she had a very rich cult and mythology so I mean all you need is a little creativity to come up with an interesting reference.
But no.
It's no California Chromette, I suppose but...

Actually it's Cat in de Nile; not that it's much better-- mine have always been extraordinarily self-aware.

Som, you disappoint me. (I'm kidding. Mostly.)

Would have been better "Cat in Denial" in that case... and let people sit for a minute till it hits them...

Egyptian Mau would have been kind cute for her name ;)

Sunny Ridge just won the Withers at Aqueduct, prevailing down the stretch over a stubborn foe inside of him. I was getting all excited about the idea of the great Holy Bull having a nice Derby prospect from his final crop, and a potential classic winner to succeed him in the shed, but...
Then I looked him up on Bloodhorse, and found that he's a gelding. :?
Sigh.

Smokey Image still undefeated and a very impressive winner in the Cal Cup! Looking forward to see him against open company next out.

My first time seeing him, but that got a low whistle outta me. Very nice win. Will be interested in seeing him next out!
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

The handsome chestnut Smokey Image just evoked memories of California Chrome as the Southern Image colt won the Cal Cup Derby by many lengths. With Freehouse on the bottom, this is a true Cal-bred...and he looks pretty good.
And, yes, he's nominated to the Triple Crown races. :P ;)

Loved Frank's call, "He's got Big Cap pedigree top and bottom."

Apparently he wasn't fully cranked according to his trainer, but what I really like is his VERSATILITY! He has shown that he can get out front early or come from off of the pace.

I missed the fact that Smokey Image was ridden by Victor Espinoza. That's kind of interesting. ;)

I don't know who Smokey Image was beating but he looked great today. I'm looking forward to seeing how he fares in the San Felipe.

His sire was a very good racehorse, and I'm glad he's gotten a good one at stud.
