always brings a big smile when the AOB group hits the track in the mornings during BC week - love them - wish them all well - and Mendy.... he is just a hoot - love 'hearing' him again!!

Sat on the horse with a bit of white in it's bridle is none other than Aidan O'Brien himself!

The Ballydoyle army (15 strong) made its way to the track this morning. Mendy made sure everyone knew they were at all times (hey it's as good a way as any to avoid collisions  )

Somebody has to provide the proper equine supervision, ya know. :D

I so hope he does well.

Me too. I’m a fan of his but also he sentimental fool in me would love it if O’Brien finally for his classic the same year Giant’s Causeway passed.

yes just read about Code of Honor - such a shame - really liked this horse in the race today - feel so bad for Shug - but as usual, he handles everything with such tremendous class.

Not surprised by Shang Shang Shang, I don't think she is near 100% right now. Interesting to see how the odds change from her scratch.

Polydream though... oof. Lots of people going to have to start all over again on that race, myself included. Was really looking forward to her.

Reading on POLYDREAM - it was the state vet scratching her over how a knee looks.

Yeah... sounds like a very messy, unfortunate situation. We're only hearing Head's side of the story here, but it's hard to imagine he'd bring over a lame horse and from his perspective it doesn't sound like he was treated very fairly. Not a pleasant story to kick off this event.

Does anybody know why she was scratched today and not tomorrow? I assume they do inspections tomorrow as well. Would they really force a scratch now so that AEs can get in?

Impressive win by Improbable in the Street Sense with same connections as Justify but with Drayden in the irons. Reminds me a bit of Justy with the chestnut coat and big white blaze.

Cameras are fogged, as well. And I don't think it's raining today. :?

Catholic Boy is the early favorite for the Classic. Color me surprised. I like him, but I thought it would be Accelerate or someone else.

Anybody see any wagering or attendance figures for today? It was not crowded at all. There were tons of empty seats and no lines for anything, even the women’s restrooms. I expect tomorrow to be packed, though.

Not surprised. Based on various social media comments no one seems interested in the juvies for some reason.

Looks like it was well-attended.

Wagering Tops $52 Million On Inaugural Breeders’ Cup Future Stars Friday Program
Friday's attendance was 42,249, a 29% increase over last year's event at Del Mar, where attendance was capped because of the size of the venue, and a 4% increase over 2011, the last time the event was held at Churchill Downs.
