New Zealand trainer Michael Pitman has arrived at Moonee Valley as his mare Savvy Coup prepares to take on Winx "We would be happy to come 2nd to Winx"

Moonee Valley have reserved a place for Michael to watch the race from so he is not too uncomfortable after being released from Hospital 2 days ago

Good for Moonee Valley.
If it had been Churchill Downs, he'd have been lucky to find a parking spot a mile away from the track, and then would have been pretty much ignored. :P

Moonee Valley announced a week or two ago that if he made the trip they would look after him which I think was a big help in the decision. Have to admit I was very worried about him when I saw footage of him yesterday but he looks much better today

Well, I wasn't planning on watching this race live, but given that it's somehow going to go off before the game is over...

For the first time, I wasn't even nervous. Benbatl gave it a good try. What a mare!

I hope you got to watch the race live, TessaBlue, because that was historic.
She is the best horse I've seen.

Ha, yes I did- first race of hers I've seen live, if the adjective "live" still applies at this point...

Well worth it. She was wonderful.

Kings Will Dream who was pulled up in the Cox Plate has been diagnosed with a fractured pelvis and a ruptured blood vessel which seems to have clotted. He is listed as stable and more importantly he is not in pain. He is being monitored closely by vets who are concerned abouth the blood vessel and will undergo more tests as the week progresses

Damn. A fractured pelvis has been fatal for other horses. :(
I hope that won't be the case for 'Dream.

It must be a minor/hairline fracture (though they haven't been specific) I have seen a number of tweets/posts including from a couple of part owners. They are worried about the bleeding starting up again but seem remarkably unconcerned about the pelvis

IIRC, the greatest danger of a fractured pelvis does come from ruptured large blood vessels. If broken bone lacerates one of the big arteries or veins that run through the pelvic area, a horse can bleed out internally. :(
If the fracture in the hip is hairline/not displaced, the horse can heal.
Didn't Animal Kingdom have a hip fracture, but came back to race quite well?
