Omaha Beach cruised home in the Malibu, carrying Mike Smith to the head of the line in G1 wins.

OB, with 3 G1s a G2 and runner-up in the BC will be getting some votes for 3YO, I forgot who it is that's suppose to win that award.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Max is supposed to win.

I suspect that isn't entirely literal.

IDK from what I've seen there's a lot of support for Max for 3YO.

Now I’m sad that we’ll never get to see Maximum Security and Omaha Beach face off.

Papa M could always rent a big storage unit and hide Omaha Beach after the Pegasus Lite.😉

It's too bad Max doesn't share the same sentiment. Usually the best horses connections take great pride in beating the best opposition.

True that.
But it's such easy money, Max should take advantage and beat up the west coast sprinter.

If Max weren’t held together with bubblegum and duct tape, he’d probably be a Left Coaster with the Great White One.

Max has had soundness issues? It's been a real long year and I've forgotten.

Servis mentioned after the Florida Derby that there was a reason that Max started his career in a Maiden Claimer for 16k and it wasn’t a big secret. Now, I suppose that could have been a veiled attempt at stating, “He trained like a slug, has little breeding, is a home bred so we decided to put him in for $16k and hope that someone bit” or the horse isn’t particularly sound and Servis figured he could get away with it. When you factor in that Max is trained almost exclusively with 2 minute licks, I would tend to go with, not real sound. So no, Servis never put an ad in the DRF stating Max’s general health but being a betting man, I’ll wager he has limited amount of starts and they’re being judicious with them.

Let's pretend.....
Max and Omaha do in fact meet up to run 1 1/8th and the odds board reflects that they are both 8/5 odds with three minutes to post (Florida time).
You've got one crisp Benjamin burning a hole on your pocket, saved for just this race. You've already ruled out any thought of betting one of the longshots, so it's down to these two.....which one gets your last hundy?

That’s fifty bets for me, but to answer your question, I’d take Max. I think he’s too quick early and would get the jump on Omaha Beach out of the gate. He’d have to work hard for it though.

As per usual, there's other speed in the race, cheap but speedy. So if you're suggesting it could turn into a jockeys race, lemme think about that, Saez or Smith, hmmm? Oh, and it is a G1 race by the way.
The late money is pouring in now, it's as if they know who you bet..
Max is now 7/5 and Omaha is 9/5.

If someone wants to do what Frosted did in the Travers and sacrifice themselves for the greater good—stuff happens. If Spun to Run couldn’t head Max early in the Cigar Mile, I ain’t afraid of no long eared rodent. I’ll take lower odds on the winner.

I'll book 'em Danno.
Curious how an unbiased professional opinion like thinair would bet?
