Let's pretend.....
Max and Omaha do in fact meet up to run 1 1/8th and the odds board reflects that they are both 8/5 odds with three minutes to post (Florida time).
You've got one crisp Benjamin burning a hole on your pocket, saved for just this race. You've already ruled out any thought of betting one of the longshots, so it's down to these two.....which one gets your last hundy?
I know you didn't ask me, but I would take MS in that bet. Omaha Beach has never run fast enough to beat Max and Max just took a big step forward in the Cigar. And that's no bias. Not a fan.

Geesh, Omaha might drift up to 5/2 if this action keeps up!
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

I ain’t afraid of no long eared rodent.
Rabbits are lagomorphs, not rodents.

Thank you for the correction but literal correctness was not my goal. On our little farm we do battle, to various degrees, with various four-limbed creatures consisting of mice, rats, rabbits and squirrels. I refer to them all as rodents more as a withering, derogatory term as anything else. I may even at times refer to a tomato as a vegetable knowing full well it’s a fruit. A pox upon me and forgive me for thou I have sinned.

I understood the use/context of the pejorative. . . . my comment was a joke, from an early Woody Allen movie.

Maximum Security will begin 2020 with a new part-owner and a guaranteed place to live upon retirement.

Coolmore, the racing arm of Susan Magnier, Derrick Smith and Michael Tabor, has purchased half-interest in the racing and breeding rights of Maximum Security, co-owner Gary West confirmed via text Tuesday night. Upon retirement, Maximum Security will stand at Ashford Stud, the breeding arm of Coolmore’s operation, in Kentucky. He will join Triple Crown winners American Pharoah and Justify, who also stand at Ashford.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.
