It seems like there's less DWC chatter this year (or at least on the US end).

Is it being televised this year? Other than TVG, that is?

When I was watching NBCSN's coverage of the Louisiana Derby, I saw a promo ad for next Saturday's racing coverage. The World Cup will be streaming on NBCSN.com, while the Florida Derby later that day will be on NBCSN. I really hope they show replays of the big races from Meydan during that on-air time slot.

On March 15 Baffert said Dabster was going to the DWC. Yet every article I read listing the US horses for the DWC none of them list Dabster. Did something change? Is Dabster going or not? I googled "Dabster Dubai World Cup" and the only things that come up are the articles from March 15 with Baffert saying he's going.

Someone asked Scott Hazelton on Twitter 5 days ago if Dabster is going to Dubai and Scott replied with ‘No’

So I guess the plans must have changed.

This article talks about the post position draw for the World Cup, so I'm posting it here...

Santa Anita may step back from whip ban, says leading jockey Mike Smith
...
Smith’s mount Seeking The Soul was one of the first names out of the hat at the draw for the Dubai World Cup on Wednesday, and his connections had plenty of options remaining before deciding to let him start from stall four.

Last year’s winner Thunder Snow, however, was one of the last two names to be drawn and Saeed bin Suroor had only the widest stalls, 12 and 13, to pick from before opting for 12.

Thunder Snow made all the running to win 12 months ago despite starting from stall 10, but Christophe Soumillon may struggle to pull off the same trick this time around with plenty of pace on his inside and other jockeys alive to his plan.

Almond Eye, the third-favourite for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in October, will start from stall seven when she makes her first start outside Japan in the Dubai Turf.

Not the most thrilling field, but with no clear superstar, it should be competitive enough. I wouldnt be surprised if Thunder Snow bounces back and wins again. I'd also love if Gunnevera finally got his day in the sun. I also have a soft spot for Yoshida. Decisions, decisions.

I'd like to see Dolkong get up for fourth or third for Korea.

I'd honestly like to see Seeking the Soul take it.

Yay Coal Front! He is the coolest horse - Pletcher has done an amazing job bringing him back from a serious injury. He was actually pulling away at the end...I’m so happy!

To catch up, Melbourne Cup winner Cross Counter won the Gold Cup, and Blue Point just took the Sprint, with Stormy Liberal not too far behind in second.

EDIT: So Belvior Bay was second actually, I think? But Liberal wasn't too far behind anyway.
