does anyone know what the letter "h" is an abbreviation for? This is located to the right of a horses assigned race weight. Is it some type of equipment being used for the first time?

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Is that always where they designate equipment? Maybe it means a hood? The ones that are like earmuffs could make a difference.

could it be a mis-read #5, the apprentice allowance?

a bad copy, I could understand a 5 looking like a h, maybe, no?

If that was at Aqueduct ,on very cold days all riders are allowed 2 lb Xtra weight. That might be it.
