Gary west has reiterated that Maximum Security won’t run in the Preakness.
........because there's no Triple Crown on the line!
What if......he were to win whatever this legal action is he's taking and be declared the Derby winner?
I honestly don’t care much what he does, I was just sharing the news after seeing the statement on twitter since this is the Preakness thread.
But it shows that him not running MS has nothing to do with it not being a TC and more him being upset.

I am hoping War of Will comes out of this just fine and they run him here. I never gave up on him and think he's in good form right now.

I will likely be watching from my phone. Why are people born and why do they then have events during the TC series?

Well, they ruled out Maximum Security from the Derby. Fine with me. If Country House goes, I'm not certain he's a winner. My choices are War of Will and Laughing Fox.

Love Laughing Fox. Was happy to see him win.

He's very pretty, nice pedigree and a lovable, memorable name. He'd be a nice sight in the winner's circle.

Laughing Fox, would be a wonderful horse to win the Preakness - love that name too - something happy - racing needs some happy.

I now live in a world where people defend Jason Servis.
While attacking Bill Mott! What a world we live in.

RE: Servis, I'm not sure there's anything tangible yet, but if you hang around twitter and or forums you'll see a lot of smoke. I have no idea if there's actual fire, but it was there long before Saturday.

If War of Will wins the Preakness will people's opinion change? Will they all of a sudden agree that Max interfered with WoW? What if Country House wins?

Can't wait for the drama that will happen in two weeks.

Literally nothing would shock me.

Horse Racing Nation is not a paragon of factual consistency, but their probables lists are generally truthful.

Here's who's on the Preakness Probables list. Looks like it would have been a good one regardless.

Improbable
War of Will
Code of Honor
Country House
Sueno
Anothertwistafate
Bodexpress
Signalman
Alwaysmining
Bourbon War
Owendale
Mr. Money
Laughing Fox

Awesome decision to allow this edition the obscurity it deserves

Jose Ortiz will ride Anothertwistafate in the Preakness Stakes, the second leg of the Triple Crown, on May 18 at Pimlico, trainer Blaine Wright said Tuesday.

Code of Honor not pointing to Preakness. “I’m not planning on it,” trainer Shug McGaughey said Tuesday. Dwyer on 7/6 likely next.

Improbable will run in the Preakness Stakes on May 18 and Mike Smith will be his rider, Bob Baffert just informed.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

If all that's left now is one hypothetical after another then I guess the issue is settled.

Next page; Preakness.

For somebody who "couldn't care less" you sure keep coming back to the thread to spread your pathetic hate.

Piss off.

would like to see Anothertwistafate win the Preakness. but man, does anyone know if Master Fencer is going in the Belmont? that horse was running at the end of the Derby. I love him in the Belmont and would be happy to see him win it.

I do have to wonder if Game Winner and Maximum Security being held out of the Preakness is being done out of spite and nothing else...If Maximum Security were mine, I'd want to PROVE he was best after the DQ, I'd run him back in the Preakness to quiet the naysayers, or if the Preakness wasn't ideal Id consider the Belmont

From a bettor's perspective that's why it's so difficult to make a future wager on some trainers, "he's acting like he's going to be sick" is a new one!

Wasn’t Songbird pulled out of the Oaks because her Antibiotics course might not be done by then even though she stayed in training?

But yes that’s why I don’t place future wagers, I still think of how disappointed I was with Casino Drive’s morning scratch of the Belmont.

Kudos to Bill Mott for putting his horse first. I'd rather a trainer care about his horse's health than run them when they are not at 100%. I swear that every time I read twitter comments I wonder if they really only care about the horse's safety/health right after they die. Bill Mott is one of the good guys in this sport and it pains me greatly to see people treat him like he is one of the villains.

Maximum Security doesn't do workouts on a short rest, much less a race.
