Daily question....

On or Off the turf?
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Thunderstorms likely Friday, Saturday and Sunday look nice -- as do Monday and Tuesday, which figures because both are dark. Rain returns Thursday. It's the same old song....

It's not just a day-to-day thing to monitor, it's actually race-to-race.
Friday
Race 2 OFF the turf
Race 3 ON the turf
Race 6 OFF the turf
Race 7 OFF the turf
Race 9 ON the turf
Race 10 OFF the turf

First-time starter Vast (Lea-Enth-Seeking the Gold) wins today. Family of Special, etc.

Any amateur photographs of the backstretch and beyond are much appreciated here.
Always enjoyed the passionate photos Ballerina provided.
Thanks in advance.

Any word on the horse that fell right at the line in race 10 yesterday (Friday)?

Unfortunately, Fight Night was euthanized.

Sad to report that Fight Night was euthanized on the track after the 10th race yesterday for a catastrophic ankle break. 3 yo filly by Alpha who had raced twice earlier this year at Santa Anita. Javier Castellano was shook up but okay. I read that he may make a statement today. He wouldn't yesterday.

Thanks, WarBiscuit and Old Bones. That's sad news, indeed. Could not have been more in the public eye for the anti-racing people to get started.
RIP Fight Night. Hope Javier is OK.
