Joevia scratched-no reason given. Field down to six.
right front ankle or foot, not the weather.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Wow I forgot the Haskell is today.

Usually I count down the days. This year, not so much.

Jim Dandy will be better.

Thanks to Bloodhorse, I've been able to see the replays for the Molly Pitcher, Oceanport, Monmouth Cup and Del Mar's San Diego.
Short fields everywhere, although War Story and Bal Harbour battling head-to-head down to the wire in the Monmouth Cup made for a pretty exciting finish.

Give a horse a shot of Lasix to dehydrate them and then run them in this weather. What a great idea.
EIPH is significantly increased by heat and humidity. What else are they supposed to do?

Besides not running, which would seem to be the prudent option.
That would be the point. They'd get the Lasix regardless. . .

... and there's a stewards inquiry between Max Security and King for a Day.

No change.

Nice to see War Story get the win. I have to confess I was shocked to see him in there. (Although I'm not sure why, lol).

I am so happy for War Story - for that horse - to get a nice, well deserved win today - he worked for it - just very happy for that horse to get into the winners circle today.

I love Joe T and was happy Mucho ran a gutsy race - my heart was torn between rooting for Max and Mucho today - just glad they finished one/two - great race by both horses!

This entire sport looks more like a joke daily. What's worse? The whole debacle over post time or Monmouths refusal to do anything to insult the West family?

Racing canceled @MonmouthPark on Sunday. The card originally scheduled for tomorrow will now be run on Friday.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

I know Max stayed up but, if I were a steward, I'd want to have a long conversation with Saez. That pinhead seems to think that cutting off his competition is the right way to win a race, no matter how reckless it is.

I thought running the stakes later was a good compromise. Living in South Florida I've never understood the need to start running at 12:30 in the summer when it's light til 8:00 anyway. Was very happy to see Maximum Security get another win, I don't see he did anything wrong, seemed to stay in his path on the turn.

Yea, he needs to cut that out. One of these days, he will do this and somebody will get injured :(

Reckless is right. His ride in the Molly Pitcher Stakes was questionable as well. It's nothing new for him though. Here's an excellent opinion piece by Gene McLean:

"-would it matter to you that Dennis A. Drazin — the Chairman of CEO of a holding company that operators Monmouth Park — is also part of the legal team that is representing Gary and Mary West in their lawsuit against the Kentucky Racing Commission and its’ individual members over the disqualification in the Kentucky Derby?"

Great googly moogly, Maggie.
