It's going to be strange to see someone other than Mike Smith aboard Midnight Bisou. I wonder if the filly will have an opinion about the change? :P

I find it just as strange to have JohnnyV on Baffert’s two year old stars on Friday! Bast and Eight Rings.

Midnight Bisou wins over Wow Cat.

With the way this year has gone, I wouldn't be surprised if HOTY comes down to a filly (Midnight Bisou) and a turf horse (Bricks and Mortar). :D

Looked like Wow Cat was going better of the two at the top of the stretch but then Midnight Bisou just went 'na-ah!' and kicked clear! 7 for 7 this year, she has some strong credentials for HOTY! Bricks and Mortar will definitely give her a race for it though.

Midnight Bisou is all class, I like how she takes care of herself. She’s beautiful to boot.
I have really enjoyed watching her this year, she was my favourite 3-year-old filly last year, and she’s certainly my favourite mare this year.
She’s got HOY in her sights, but we won’t know for sure until the BC.

I thought Vexatious, Creative Cause's sister, was running in the Beldame. Does anyone know why she was scratched?

They said she couldn't arrange a Tex Sutton flight. Going to run next week as a Plan B

Personally, I think the big mare looked a little vulnerable today. Will see what the figure comes back, but a long campaign may be taking it's toll.

If I'm Mott, I'm taking another shot at her at Santa Anita.

Big Balloons in the Distaff?

I guess a lot depends on how Elate runs in the Spinster -- do you think anyone else could topple Bisou?

If she's tailing off, I would consider one of the Brown 3 yos if they run to be threats.

Her Beyer came back as a very light 91. I agree that she looks vulnerable, but it's hard to pick anyone out to topple her at the moment. Hoping the Spinster brings some clarity.

Browns Ghostzapper filly is very, very good.
