I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

They showed Nadal schooling in the paddock and he was doing the rocking-horse thing all the way around. Only one handler, too. :o

Storm the Court was also schooled and stood calmly in the saddling barn.

Wonder if the "other Baffert" angle is worth working in. (Ra'ad.)
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Really looking forward to seeing Nadal in this one. I'll be surprised if he doesn't win by at least several lengths. Here's the link to his recent work:

Money is pouring in on Nadal with 15 minutes to post.

Maybe The Rebel next up.
Bob swears he did it all on his own today, very little conditioning prior.

They also went very fast early - 21+/44+ and Nadal was coming back pretty quickly. Final time 1:22 and change. All things considered, I'd say he showed himself very well.

Well if anyone can get a natural miler to stretch out, it is Baffert. I have always found it interesting that Baffert's horses seem to rebreak and are usually pretty reluctant to give up when running on the lead. It is likely something about the way they are trained and maybe a mental make-up that he and his partners look for when bringing them into the barn. However, on the other side of that coin, when Baffert's horses go sour, they really go sour and never seem to come out of it.

Baffert not conditioning much......yeah, okay.

He raced on Jan 19th.
I think his point was in reference to the workout regimen.

I'm kind of surprised Nadal is so speedy; being by Blame with Pulpit and Pleasant Colony on the dam's side.

IIRC he was 1323 pounds on debut--not easy to keep sound and happy. But he may well be better around two turns where his natural speed gets him position without having to go 22 or so. Just wish he hasn't shown as a need the lead type.
