They had Gator today and it tasted very good. 41-7 spanking. What a job Jim Harbaugh has done with that program. Look out Sparty and look out OSU.
I think everyone knows there is another Michigan school... lol.

I hope this championship game isn't as BORING as the semi finals were. Blow outs are horrifically boring when you aren't really a fan of anyone in particular.
I probably should have posted a wink emoticon after my first sentence.
These bowl games have been awful. (((barf emote)))
Other than Michigan's blow out, the other bowl games I wanted excitement and competition. None of that happened. While I am from Michigan, and a mega Wolverine fan, I was hoping that the Spartans could advance but my heart is not broken that they lost either. It is a very intense rivalry out here between the fans of the two and you could here crickets chirp during the blowout. These are the same fans that had the nerve to rub salt in the wound earlier in the season after they got the win vs Michigan ON A FLUKE.
So, while I wanted them to represent my state with some honor, I still had a little smirk on my face when they got steamrolled.
Michigan, on the other hand, had an amazing year. I honestly didn't expect much this season but holy cow....It was so awesome how it turned out. Harbaugh is an incredible coach and with all the gigantic recruits that are rolling in I give Michigan 3 years max and they will be playing for the national title. :D

Glad I'm not an Oregon fan.
Wow - what a comeback

Alabama holds off Deshaun Watson, Clemson to win national championship

He has now won five national titles, staking his claim as arguably the greatest coach of all-time. But Nick Saban has never had to overcome an opponent like this with so much on the line, making all the more impressive what Alabama did Monday night to beat No. 1-ranked Clemson for the College Football Playoff title 45-40.

Call me crazy but I think there was more buzz, attention and conversation before there was a Championship game. Everybody seemed to enjoy bashing the system, or lack thereof, and making a case for their team to be crowned #1. Now the actual game has taken away all that fun!

But it was a great game to watch.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

I love the Championship Game/Playoff and think it makes the most sense. However, my biggest gripe is the game is on a Monday night in the middle of the NFL Playoffs. I love football, but you can only consume so much at once. I know why it's this way (and that it has to be this way) but I do think you lose something when the Championship is January 11 instead of January 1. Plus, I watch a lot of ESPN and the way they shove the Playoff down your throat beginning in August would even wear out Larry Culpepper.

The only time I watch ESPN at this point is for around the horn and PTI. I love PTI. Stop watching. It'll save your life.

That game was great, though. I'm sorry I fell asleep somewhere in the 4th.

Penn State to formally honor Joe Paterno on Sept. 17

Penn State said Thursday it will formally honor former head coach Joe Paterno, who was fired in 2011 amid the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal, during the team's game Sept. 17 against Temple.

App State v. Tennessee was a great game.

Under over on Les Miles' career ending by mid-season?

It is a great feeling walking into the kitchen for snacks and hearing whistles in the background.

Could it be? Do the Gators finally have a quarterback?! It's been so long I'd forgotten what a good one looked like.

And our kicker! Wow. A 48 and a 49 yarder straight down the middle and he's never missed in practice. Man am I glad we landed him.

My boyfriend and I do not agree on any professional sports teams. We both really love football and are now self appointed Longhorn fans after a rather ridiculous elimination method.

Tonight!

Unforgettable win, unforgettable night, for Texas

After Texas, the team that found new and interesting ways to lose last season, coughed up a 17-point, third-quarter lead at home against No. 10 Notre Dame;

After the Longhorns scored a touchdown to regain the lead with 3 minutes, 29 seconds to play, only to see the Fighting Irish block the extra point attempt and return it for the deuce that sent the game into overtime, 37-37;

husband is a huge Irish fan - disappointed in outcome - but that was an exciting game - nice to watch some college ball on a sunday until the NFL starts next week - enjoyed it.

Wasn't it?

Such a fun, exciting game. College football overtime is the best.

College football has a new star but not a new No. 1 team

We have a new superstar player to celebrate in college football, but not a new No. 1 team.

Boy, was it close, though.

For the first time in the history of the Associated Press poll, the top three teams played on the road against ranked teams, so we expected some shake-up. And by the time Cal completed its upset of No. 11 Texas, seven ranked teams had fallen in Week 3.

Karma for all the player crap that went on during the Urban Meyer years, maybe? And I say that as a Gator alumna (CLAS '86) and fan.

At least Appleby has some experience on the field...

So my new boss is a Georgia fan and has been making snide remarks about the Gator items from my desk. I gathered up a ton of UF stuff to take to work and will cover every inch of my desk with it tomorrow. It's gonna be really ugly the week of the UF-UGA game.
