My holiday this year is kinda crappy, but I think I'd rather fill out Property Loss and Rubble Removal forms that watch anything with either a Kardashian or a Beiber in it.
Seriously, I have to say that the support I've received from my family and friends has proved that things can be replaced; people can't...and they make up for all the crappy.

When you arrive at your parents’ house* for Christmas dinner at the agreed-upon time only to find that earlier guests have eaten all the food—the only thing left is half a pie.

*I am very grateful my parents are still with us.

I'm venting that I don't have a white Christmas this year! Simple as that. Blessed that I am healthy, and all the good that I've had this year. Experienced a parental loss this year that was the hardest thing to get through and accept.

what does the neighbour, who knows I can't have any starches or sugars for health reasons, do? brought over AN ENTIRE PIE and a bowl of macaroni and cheese. i. cannot. eat. any. of. this.

Pass it on.
I didn't cook. My daughter brought a full dinner home from work. I'm busy listening to the results of Hospital Wars. The fight is ongoing. I can't just dump half a bottle of seizure meds. These damned things have to be stepped down carefully or I'm right in the middle of the ER all over again. The nurses are keeping me updated. So far, no bloodshed. I had a full CT Brain scan at 1:30 AM Sat night. Neuro is still playing with that. I was fast asleep when they showed up to haul me to it. It's a major teaching hospital in addition to being a Regional so there are flocks of drs running together. You tell rank by how long their coats are. Department heads coats may need a coatman to hold a train if they are too short.
The nurses love me. I teach them how to keep score.

Back in captivity.
I've been getting rid of some kidney stones lately. As long as I can lose them myself I'm fine. Been there, done that... I can take rhat pain myself if they are small. Add an extra motrin if I need to.
I seem to have one stuck or something. Back to the ER I am hauled. More pain than I want right now.
Then my bp decided to go bananas. Geez, I just got here.

Maybe your ailments want to make sure you get your money's worth out of that hospital bed?
sorry. :(

It's one of those love hate relationships. If I don't go in, I get yelled at by one bunch. If I do, I get the look from another section of white coats for not going in to see them. I need to sell tickets. I have a bunch of things wrong with me that I don't take seriously. This frustrates a bunch of serious drs. I'm easy to work with and don't mind teaching how to write charts. It's a teaching hospital.

Maybe you should ask them to put you on retainer. ;)

A soldier I work witth, who is married to another co-worker, killed himself tonight. They had been married for less than 2 months. I have no words. I feel so helpless. We were all just at their wedding!

Please please please get help if you want to hurt yourself. Please.

My deepest sympathy to his spouse, their families, to you, and all your coworkers and friends. If at all possible, you all, too, should try and reach out for help.

I want a back transplant.
The one I have is viciously killing me this morning.

This is not fun. Wanna have a seizure... you can have mine.
Moved Sunday, my med schedule is off. Daylight savings doesn't help, either. Just the timing on meds has me screwed up.
Major trembles.

I got through to the right dr. They have to approve the extra refill. A mover found my purse before I did. He picked my biggest pill. Now he gets to go to the ER. He will have the shakes coming off of that stuff.
I'll be fine. Just needed to get the doc to give me a schedule for extra dosing.
Thank you.

People at my company have been hitting Reply All to an email that accidentally got sent to all employees all morning. Sigh.

In one day, I have managed to be attacked by all the oak pollen in the universe, the common cold, and COPD. Then, the couple that checked in last night with 4 kids under 10, forgot to mention that all 4 had pink-eye. Guess what?
Yeah. Now I do.
Now I get to watch the desk while she skips merrily to the drug store and fills about 15 prescriptions.
I am not in a good mood. My cough sounds like a Narragansett foghorn.

Now, I'm a witness. Perfect. Minding my own business, innocently waiting for cough medicine to kick in.
Blinds are almost, not quite, closed.
Watching early birds looking for worms on the way to the AFB.
Some dumbass forgets what a red octagon means on a street sign. He found out.
3 car pile up on the busiest 5 AM street in Tampa. It now has 2 fire trucks, 4 cop cars, 4 ambulances, and 2 fire / rescue crews. By the looks of the dummy's car, they are waiting for the copter crew. And a giant, economy sized box cutter. Cutesy wootzy litlle red zoom mobile needs to go to the great sports car heaven in the sky.
Yep, they spotted my lights on. Now banging on motel door.

A look back at the good old days.....

When the news on TV and in the papers got to be too depressing, from politics to school shootings, I always had horse racing to fall back on, weekend escapes from reality that I really enjoyed.

Now what?

Then don't read the vent thread.
And don't, for God's sake, give your friendly neighborhood hospital an excuse to give you a contrast screen CT scan. 90 % of humans get hives and attempt to look like an Irish Setter. We proved I'm human. Nuff said.
The tech in the scanner room was patting me on shoulder and telling me that they really did love me while it went in. Oh, yeah, that made me feel better? LOL,LOL,LOL!
