love watching all the Westminster shows - those agility runs were fun to watch yesterday - especially loved seeing a cavalier (my Abby is a cavalier spaniel) run thru that agility course - but truly the pooch who captured the night was the bulldog - never had seen a bulldog do agility before - and that dog was moving! that was great to watch - looking forward to the group judging tonight and tomorrow night - just gotta smile watching that dog show - Westminster... love it!!

oh my gosh.... dobie's are my dream dog!!! I love them! just such an elegant beautiful dog - I go to dog shows in our area just to see them - and if I get to 'meet' one or two, I am just in heaven! years ago there was a gorgeous show dobie named sara who I saw at several dog shows here in our area (even at a show down at del mar - my husband got to pet her.... I was pretty jealous!) - I was so ticked when she didn't win at Westminster - I think she competed there two years in a row - she was a total beauty - and an awesome outstanding show dog - she didn't need a handler.... she would go around in the ring on a loose lead and show herself - I thought she was stunning - so sad she never got BIS at Westminster - thought she absolutely deserved it!
We're in the process of acquiring a grandson of the group winning long haired Dachsund.
Glad my wife locked in the price a few weeks ago, lol.

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

I love dogs (maybe not as much as my cats
), but I don't enjoy watching Westminster or other big shows anymore. I can't look at all those breeds with their ears and/or tails cut off without flinching. Until American breeders and the AKC get rid of breed standards that mandate mutilating dogs, I just can't.
