Doug seems to have a soft spot for high-class retired geldings like Interpol and Lava Man. Maybe it makes his trainees feel like they have to live up to their escorts, especially if their 'pony' looks like he could outrun them.
Baffert, on the other hand, apparently likes to give his horses a bit of confidence by having tiny little reining horses (almost literally ponies :P ) accompany them to the track.

Stepped over to Old Friends's website today and saw that they have updated their "featured residents" (for lack of better terms list. There are others I have seen them post about on twitter that aren't listed, but you can't list them all of course.

Some new names I recognize are MGSP Talk Logistics (High Cotton) and SW Deeply Undervalued (Kitten's Joy).

I'm so proud of him, he's come such a long way in just a short time! Ann worked really hard with him, and I helped with a lot of the groundwork and a little bit of under saddle work (I'm the token English rider at the barn, LOL)... I'm really going to miss that goofball, he's got a huge heart and is going to make someone a fabulous partner.

Darnit, where's the kleenex... <3 <3 <3
