“In AQU 6th, Dark N Cloudy broke down at the quarter pole and had to be euthanized on track. Jockey Hector Diaz Jr. got up and walked to the ambulance, probably heading to First Aid.”

Dark N Cloudy was a 5yo g by Distorted Humor out of Unacloud making his 19th career start. May he rest in peace.

Kachy, the UK’s top All Weather sprinter, on his seasonal reappearance. It was supposed to be his penultimate start before retiring to stud at 7.

Tough, scorchingly fast and incredibly charismatic - he served it up season after season.
Absolutely adored him.

Awful news...Taraz broke down this morning at Oaklawn and had to be euthanized. According to Juddmonte's Garrett O'Rourke she fractured her left front pastern during a workout.

According to Broughton Farm's Facebook, Native Annie, 2004 Texas Champion 3-Year-Old Filly, passed away February 10. She delivered a stillborn colt by Shermanesque the weekend before February 9. She never recovered from the delivery. She would have turned 19 in May.

Native Annie (Manzotti x Criminative, by Criminal Type) won six stakes races. She has five named foals on PQ, 3 of which are winners. Daughter Hunkette is currently in training. Hunkette was the first foal for The Hunk. I *think* her last live foal is a 2017 colt by Live In Joy.

Not going to directly link the video because it's graphic, but Jose L. Verenzuela posted a video to twitter that Venezuelan champion mare El Comediante and Grade 1 winner Ocean Bay were completely butchered at their farm in an act of vandalism. They were both in-foal. According to a twitter conversation the vandals arrived armed.

Stud farm is "Haras Buena Ventura."

EDIT: Looks like it was actually Jordyn Macoma, the dam of Comediante, and Stellar Babe, the dam of Ocean Bay (who is actually a stallion).

A.P. Indy (Seattle Slew) at 31.

Or technically 30, as he hasn't seen his actual birthday yet.
