Darley announced the passing of Commands today. Sire of 9 G1W with progeny earnings of $84 million.

http://www.darley.com.au/news/press-release-july-12
“Commands was a champion who will be sadly missed by not only Darley but his legion of loyal supporters. He is one of the rare stallions that made it the hard way, rapidly ascending from a service fee of just $10,000 in his first season at stud to become one of the country’s elite stallions."

He coliced and died last night. Harris lost his dam last year, also to colic.

That's sad...and makes me wonder if both deaths were more than an unhappy coincidence. Is there a genetic predisposition for colic?
