Nice try by Humidor, who was peeling ground off her at the end, but The Queen kept in front, winning by a good half length. And she did it from the far outside, running farther than anyone else.

The connections have expressed interest in running her at Royal Ascot, but so much can happen between now and next June. She's six and will be about to turn seven (on Southern Hemisphere time) when the Royal meeting rolls around...and there's always the possibility that her 'I want to be a mommy' alarm goes off by then.

Trainer almost gave up on her early in her carreer, they were going to try to get one more race out of her, trainer thought she was no good ...group 3 Sunshine Coast Guineas.....she was 17 lengths behind!

IIRC, a 'barrier trial' is not the same as a 'race.' I don't believe there is a purse, that it becomes part of a horse's official race record or that you can wager on it.
Maybe TVG will show it because, you know, WINX.

But I wouldn't wager on it.

Winx finished sixth, beaten 2 lengths in her barrier trial. Trainer and jockey both pleased with her, especially with how relaxed she was. First official race of the season Feb 17 at Randwick.

i know it wasn't considered a real race, but should this finish be worrying at all? i'm not super familiar with how barrier trials work/are analysed/etc.

No. Its essentially just a gate workout but with other horses. Each horse just goes out and does what the connections want, none of the horses were asked to do anything. As far as I know, she has only won one barrier trial ever and that was in August 2017.
